  1. I love the LCP 380 because it can be pocket carried and is also small enough to ankle carry. I know that ankle carry isn't the most efficient draw but on long road trips for the holidays it is nice to have it on my person without the bulk in my pockets. I liked the term I heard in a Paul Harrell video recently, "Program Compliance". I know I would be better off with my Glock 22 but sometimes it is just too much of a hassle and I would be unarmed if it weren't for the LCP. You made the right call to keep the 380 IMHO.
  2. +1 for the snapsafe with the cable attachment. I was planning to mount it down to the frame of my vehicle but I am glad I didn't. It is easy to move from vehicle to vehicle and even into the house when visiting family.
  3. Thanks! That is the best option I have seen so far. Not sure about the distance but will check it out. Friday I went to the 25 yard pistol range in the Bass Pro Pyramid since it is so close to me. I think I got spoiled living in Knoxville and having access to Norris and the Jon Sevier ranges!
  4. I have googled but can't find a rifle range in the Memphis area. I don't want to spend $800 to join the Memphis Sport Shooting Association (MSSA) or $315 to join the Desoto Rifle & Pistol Club. Have yall found anything else or know of any good spots in the Holly Springs National Forest?
  5. Watched a video the other day that was a discussion between the Mom's Demand Action and the head of the open carry group. During the interview, the OC guy tried to claim that these guys need the right to open carry their rifles because they can't legally carry handguns; they are 18 but not 21 yet.   I see his point but really if I thought I was going to need a rifle I would just stay at home.  There has to be a better, less troll like way to petition for better gun laws. With all the stupid gun laws that make don't actually keep people safer, why are is the focus here? This sort of idioocy is being exploited to make gun owners look like crazy people.   http://live.huffingtonpost.com/r/segment/target-under-fire-for-open-carry-gun-policy/538cb48802a7602b160005ab
  6. I had the Desantis Nemesis holster for a few months and it works fine.  I ended up selling it though because I felt like it didn't do enough to prevent printing when worn in jeans.     http://www.midwayusa.com/product/115445/desantis-nemesis-pocket-holster-ambidextrous-kel-tec-p32-p3at-ruger-lcp-nylon-black     I ended up getting this leather Hunter Holster and I have had it for several years now. There may be better options but it has worked for me.  I would buy one again. I mostly carry in my back pocket with this gun but I have also carried in my front pocket.  Depending on the cut of the pants, it can look a little bulky in the front pocket.    http://www.midwayusa.com/product/384209/hunter-2500-pocket-holster-right-hand-ruger-lcp-leather-brown
  7. pretty cool, thanks for sharing.  I found this a while ago, not sure if its been posted here or not but its a google map with walking dead locations marked.   https://maps.google.com/maps/ms?ie=UTF8&hl=en&msa=0&msid=103339227187314601354.000496a3cdd937ab6cb68&ll=33.632916,-84.201965&spn=1.200565,1.175537&z=10   Here is an affiliated site showing locations organized by episode.   http://walkingdeadlocations.com/locations-index-2/
  8. Glad you two are okay but I'm still saddened by the loss of life.   My wife asked my what I was doing the first few times, but this is exactly why I turn on my hazards when I am stopped in interstate traffic until the cars behind me are stopped.
  9. I just sent a second batch of emails to the Corker and Alexander as well as a letter to Rand of KY thanking him for his leadership on the filibuster.  In case I missed them, here are links to their websites in case you are google challenged. My emails were short, direct, and polite.   http://www.corker.senate.gov/public/index.cfm/contactme   http://www.alexander.senate.gov/public/   I was incredibly disappointed in four of my friends that I haven't seen in a while last weekend when none of them had contacted Senators.  These are guys that have internet access, graduated from UTK with me and have grown up shooting all their lives and for some reason have not taken 5 min to due their part.  I don't understand how people can think that their responsibility as a citizen ends after voting.  The media is creating a fabricated pressure on gun rights advocates, we need to support and defend our rights.
  10. In comic 108, someone complains to Kirkman about the way guns seem to function magically and Kirkman responds by saying that "Whatever it is that caused the zombies also changed the way guns work". .....I don't think it will be perfectly realistic or accurate anytime soon.
  11. I've read that the hex receivers are older and were made before the war really picked up. The soviets started to make the round ones because they were quicker to build. People also say that the hex ones are made with more care and precision but I don't know if thats just hype. I have a round 1944 91/30 and I'm pretty happy with it. Here is an identification guide that may help you figure out the exact model you are looking at.http://7.62x54r.net/MosinID/MosinID.htm
  12. got to level thirty the other day with a buddy on the movie theater level. The strategy we used was simply running around the map and stopping at one or two choke points to turn and fire. There are a few tight squeezes where it really helps to have the big ray gun.
  13. Took mine here. enjoyed it. On Target Training Center, Inc. - Handgun Carry Permit Training - Knoxville, Tennessee
  14. Good read, I have to try the SWAG test next time I go up to Norris, ha ha.
  15. I had already owned firearms and had planned on getting my permit right after I turned 21 but I never really got around to it right away. I was in a speech class and the teacher tried to tell us that if the victims at Virginia Tech had been able to carry firearms it would have done them no good and probably caused more harm. I decided to make my last speech of the year be about examples of permit holders stopping shooters and how criminals don't care about the law. I figured the best way to be prepared for the speech would be to actually take the class instead of just reading about it. If you were wondering, I DO obey all laws concerning carrying and I do NOT carry at school. Also I got a C in the class that was supposed to be an easy A because I got the last word in on the gun haters.
