  1. Since it was the HWY Patrol what I was sharing is irrelevant now. It is an officers discretion to arrest or not. Even for the most minor TCA codes a ticket is issued in leu of arrest anyway. What I was saying as a city officer was our city judge could not issue a warrant for FTA and could only send paperwork into the state to revoke a license.
  2. I would say you do not have to worry for a few days. Was it a city officer? If so I have never witnessed a city judge in TN issue a warrant for failure to appear but rather revoke a license. A revoked (for FTA) is generally a ticket and call a ride to pick you and your vehicle. The county magistrate issues the warrants when you FTA for their court. I still think that a week is too soon for that to happen though. One other thing; Several times in the past I have went to court as an officer and the accused party did not show. When the judge and I discussed the person, the offense, and even the time period from which a ticket had been issued; we would hold off on issuing a warrant or revoking a license if there were any doubts.
  3. Was this issued by a deputy or by a city officer? You need to call the court house and just explain and make sure you tell them that you did pay it. In all likely hood it will be forgiven. In my city people that did not pay or show for court we could only file the paperwork to revoke a license. The sessions court judge could issue a bench warrant when the offender refused to show when tickets were issued by a deputy.

A S&W 632 in 327 Federal Mag would be the perfect gun for you since you are talking about reloading .32 calibers.

I have a 2001 S&W revolver that does not have the serial number on the butt but below the cylinder window.
  6. I have heard before gun shops saying that when they opened a "new" Taurus, it appeared to have been shot more than one or two times.
  7. There may be one exception to that rule; If the second FFL were to go out of business I believe the serial numbers would get cataloged somehow.
  8. I'm actually surprised that we have not had this happen with 10mm also.
  9. Do not throw them out because you never know when you will need them. I would probably just store them or load them and use them places that I cant pickup my brass. This is one of the reasons that I really wish that I could find a .45 acp to like so that I can use a larger assortment of primers. I first saw spp 45acp about two years ago and appears they are becoming more common.
  10. I have wanted one for a long time.

As far as barrel lengths and pricing I think the 2" and 4" may be a little desirable. It seems like most of the 30's have been 3".
  12. Not really, as huge of a S&W fan as I am they have been pulling some stunts pissing off dealers especially LE firearm dealers. They were doing stuff like selling directly to agencies cheaper than what the LE dealers could. They were also continuously dropping their prices and dealers were getting stuck being upside down in their S&W inventory. The correct way to do that would have been to send out rebates so dealers could drop their inventory before the cheaper models came out. I hear Shields are less than $300 to dealers now and some are stuck with some the paid $350 to get to their door.
  13. No lock and somewhat rough condition. It could have been a 2" but I really think it was a 3". Honestly they brought a whole container of S&W jewels back from Puerto Rico. Mostly all are 38 or 357 w/ 2-4" barrels.
  14. I have never heard of them. My grandfather worked off and on for ADT over about 35 years. He washed his hands of them in the mid 90's because of their trickery and dishonesty. I hear it is even worse now. It is all about your money and nothing else. I had a bad experience with a locally owned company here in Chattanooga and it was one I had been recommended by a family member because they were friends of the family. After five years of service, and rather than complain, I just paid them all that I owed and called DRALARMS. So far I have been very happy with Surveillence Systems. I am very happy now and I made a $4 purchase of a solar powered pathway light at Target. This is what I made:

I have a friend who sold that exact Smith on gunbroker for $650 about a year ago. I told him to put it on there to get the maximium amount possible. His had never been shot. For $50 you can get a detailed letter from Roy Jinks the S&W historian. This one has diamond grips and a flat latch which dates it in the late 50's without looking up the number. The H&R really isn't worth that much maybe $150.
  16. I have no need for it but it took all I had to walk away from a S&W 686 3" today at GT's for less than $500.
  17. I find them very easy to pocket carry. Loaded it probably will not feel any different than your 640, but you will be gaining at least one round. I will say that the .45 version may not be for the recoil sensitive. I have not been able to shoot a XDS 9 yet so I can't comment.
  18. Yes, I do! If I am not mistaken John Moses Browning did not want the 1911 to have a grip safety. While in the police academy and a couple of the training events I have been to I have seen XD(M) malfunction because they will not run dry. Soak them with oil and run again.
  19. I have had one XD and it was ok. I just shoot Glocks better. I could also stand to live without the grip safety. I do like how the 9mm XD's hold manically hold so many rounds. The XD 45 is somewhat thinner and easier to carry over a Glock 21. I also had a XDS 45 but I just like the Shield so much better. The XDS carries like a small gun and shoots like one. The Shield just shoots like a fullsize.
  20. If I didn't reload 40 and wasn't sitting on a ton of brass I would buy some. I do regret not picking up some of the strange bulk Israeli 40 ammo that was like $12/100 a few years ago. Even if I had to pull them it would have been worth it.
  21. Congrats, take the advice from someone who has owned a CBST holster and buy an Alien Holster for a lot less money.
  22. Actually, that is true. I have probably seen less .38 Spl than .380 over the last 6 months.
  23. I don't see a lot of it but I do find it occasionally. Sportsmans, Academy and GT's is where I see the majority of it. I reloaded up 1k .380 and traded away my dies. My wife shoots a LCP but we have just about ran down he stash. I should have done more.
  24. Either a Sig or a Springfield.
