  1. It is either $25 or $35 total but I don't remember.
  2. This^ Is this in a Kahr by any chance?
  3. One of my buddies has one. It is not too bad at all. Since I have shot it he had had a lot of parts replaced because supposedly there are some reports of broken parts.
  4. Scott Bookkeeping on Brainerd Rd.

    glock rtf2

The G23 RTF is a gun I should have never gotten rid of. My LW conversion barrel does not like my reloads or extremely long loads like some 147 gr loads. They purposely make them to tight tolerances.
  6. Things actually are better now, or at least they were for me as a MP. However it wasn't until about 2005 that I started seeing the moving targets, malfunction drills with training rounds mixed in, and stress courses with less than desireable conditions. I have heard and even experienced some of the old Army training though.
  7. The 45acp is for sure the most diserable of that lot if it has large pistol primer pockets.
  8. I had one post recall with 5 mags that took forever to sale for $500. I would say it is the going rate or a little on the high side but not too bad. See if he will let you shoot it first. They have A LOT of recoil and I normally am not too sensitive to recoil.
  9. The Sig 220 is probably one of my favorite platforms of firearms and especially in 45acp. The weight will bother you before the size though. I myself just do not care for the any of the 45acp Glocks, Springfields, or Kahrs. The 45 M&P's I could learn to like though.
  10. Growing up as a teen in the 90's I was quite fan of The Wall. Recently I have discovered that The Dark Sude of The Moon may be one of the best masterpieces of all time. I look forward to seeing what the new album will be.
  11. There is actually a new threat to rentals that didn't exist twenty years ago when my parents had rental property and that is meth labs. Guess who gets hit with the multi thousand dollar clean up bill when a lab is found in a rental property?
  12. After seeing what my parents went through with their rentals I would never rent a house unless I lived next door.
  13. They probably were Nuclear Material Couriers, 0084, no one special. There was probably nothing more than garbage bags in the trucks or they were finishing a training session. With DOE the pay is good but you are away from home a lot. The turnover is very high but most of them go to a similar job allowing them to go home at night.
  14. You do need to be aware that blued S&W revolvers do not resist rust to well when engraved. All of this assuming nothing has been filled into the engraving.
  15. I am impressed; Great job. A no-lock at that.
  16. Sweet, I like the 442's better than the 642's anyway. If or when they start to show wear they look cleaner. How about some pictures?
  17. The factory 9mm Shield barrels are the same OD as the .40 barrels and the extractor is the same model number. The tail on the barrel is the only size difference on the barrel beside the chamber and ID. It is not a big deal on the tail as it only locks it up into battery. If I had a factory 9mm Shield barrel I would feel comfortable after a few hundred rounds to be used as SD. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=flnFIzI6MIw
  18. Smith was selling them for $70 but then stopped for whatever reason. I have not seen any for sale since. I can not tell much of a difference in the 9 and the 40 as long as the 180 grain was being shot in the .40.
  19. You can not go wrong with either caliber. Initially you could buy 9mm barrels to drop in the .40's but S&W stopped selling them. I bet the aftermarket will respond soon with 9mm barrels for them if you really want a 9mm. For now enjoy the large availability of .40S &W ammo.
  20. Is the 547 a 3" or a 4"?
  21. I am curious how the new 9mm revolver(986&929) will be in the long run. Everyone says that about the 940's , and bent moonclips as well as weak primer strikes are issues. The 547 is just unique in a weird way.
  22. The 547 is the unicorn of S&W's. I am guessing that it is a 3"? The 4" are actually less common.
  23. If you can shoot full power 357 magnum loads in a 640 then you will be able to shoot the 642 without complaints.
  24. The downside to the airweights is the recoil; while it is almost half the weight of your 640 it has what feels like twice the recoil comparing 38's to 38's. I shoot an all steel j frame wit twice the accuracy of an airweight. Airweights also tend to have finishes that less than superb after a little carry. For me though ankle carry is not very smart since I am not flexible and have back trouble. Sitting is about the only time I can deploy an ankle carried firearm effectively. There are a lot of baby Glocks being carried on ankles that weigh more than our 640's. I have completed cleaned my collection of airweights but I still find myself trying to acquire another one. I do have an early 70's Charter Arms Undercover(15oz) that feels that void. Dimensionally that Undercover is a hair smaller as well. Mine was about $250 but I have seen them for as little as $200 recently. Do not sell your 640 because it is not easily replaceable, an instant classic, and twice the shooter with magnum versatility.
