  1. The only thing holding me back from shooting at him through my window is the fact that there are people in cars right behind him, and if you miss(you will miss) or the bullets go through him then your facing a lot of liability.... I personally would have done everything possible to run his ass over....
  2. what the heck is an emory board? You can tell I'm not married
  3. Guys I think I'm making progress here with the sandpaper....and hold the laughter, but my moms nail file:rock:
  4. I wouldn't mind trying the sandpaper but I'm thinking its going to take a loooong time I see a screw on the side, do the Serpas come apart?
  5. Sadly I do not get the reference you are attempting... Is it the Godfather( a movie I have still never seen, not any of them)??
  6. He was just pissed you had mexican food for lunch and didn't leave a good tip for his cousin..... but on a serious note, I personally would have made him get on the floor and would have had his ass arrested....
  7. I just bought a Serpa for my Taurus 24/7. It fits great but inside the holster there are to raised areas that aren't necessary to the function of the holster. After holstering the gun a few times it is already getting holster wear. I realize that some holster wear is unavoidable but since this feature of the holster isn't necessary I would like to fix it. Does anyone know how I can file down the plastic without making it rough. The gun its self is already acting like sandpaper to the plastic inside at that part and making it chip away. Is their any specific tool I could use to flatten that area out? Thanks for the help.
  8. sorry about the HUGE picture... on that note if anyone can offer suggestions on how to post pics other than photo bucket I would appreciate it....
  9. Great great gun, but how in the world is that considered a compact? noooo way...
  10. Dude I'm drooling over the computer right now, I don't know what it is about the p238's that I love.. I had a change to buy one new for $500 but passed it up....I'm still mad at myself...
  11. No hard feelings Jim and thanks everyone for the suggestions. And just for the record my parents have gotten used to me having the gun around the house and have actually been more supportive of it. My mom even mentioned getting a gun of her own... To which I just snickered.
  12. Thanks guys I appreciate the support. I got a lot of good advice.. I think he would take back the welfare comment if he knew that I paid off my car loan early, the money to pay for UT comes straight out of my checking account, and my credit score is in the top 10% of the nation....I work part-time and go to school full time... Ignorance is bliss Jim
  13. You lost me with the welfare comment....This has nothing to do with what I was asking in the OP......And I didn't almost shoot him, I simply approached the front door with my gun at my side...not pointed at him or near him.....
  14. How does that NAA Guardian treat you? I'm not familiar with them at all.. I see they also make a .380 which is pretty appealing...
  15. they are correct...6 long months...might as well get it done ASAP though because it takes a while after that until you actually receive it..
  16. Any difference? yes....Obviously the G19 is a lot bigger and therefore going to be that much more difficult to conceal. If your build allows you to conceal the G19 and you like it more then go for it. I personally would not want to carry a gun that big because I'm a smaller guy and can't conceal as easily as others. The G19 will probably be more fun to shoot but if you get the pinky extension for the G26 it could be a dream.
  17. We are finally getting somewhere, thanks guys...
  18. While these have been interesting guys, I was wondering why so many people carry Spyderco and Benchmade, and if I should invest in one of these
  19. I notice that many guys on here carry other tools beside a gun including a flashlight, pepper spray, and knife etc. I noticed a few trends. I currently carry just my gun and my Gerber. And here lies my question. I kept noticing that a lot of guys are carrying a Spyderco or Benchmade knife as apposed to a Gerber like myself. I know nothing about knives so I wasn't familiar with these 2 brands. Is there a reason for this choice? Are these 2 brands better for self defense or just better quality, or is it just a preference? I carry a knife as both a tool and a last line of defense but to be honest I don't know if my Gerber is the right choice. I will also start carrying a personal defense flashlight(their term) similar to this one. Thoughts and suggestions will be appreciated. http://www.night-gear.com/stores/n/nightgear/catalog/5110.250.jpg
  20. [quote name= I assume that you're a student? Perhaps a like-minded room-mate would make it more affordable if you only have time for a part-time job?[/quote] Even with a room-mate most decent places are around $500 a month. I do work part-time but by the time I pay for all my other expenses I barely break even. And besides, think how much ammo I could buy with that money!!!
  21. We have a security system....that they choose not to pay for or use.....
  22. ya, my mom lives in fantasy land. She grew up in rural minnesota with 18 brothers and sisters(yes i said 18) They never locked doors and people were always coming and going. she still thinks its normal to have people coming and going. I just need to sit down and have a talk with her. When I first got my gun she did mention getting one also, it's my step-dad that needs to:chill:
  23. Do you have an extra $500 bucks a month laying around? I sure don't
  24. Thanks Mike, I plan on trying to talk to them about it without pissing them off..
  25. To the original post: I just acquired a Beretta 85 .380 and I have been wondering the same thing. Whatever you decide to go with Cabela's has the best prices I have found on .380 ammo... Cabela's -- Search Simple Product
