  1. Because we all know nothing bad could ever happen at church. http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,392081,00.html
  2. I'm sure more evidence will come out as the trial progresses but as it stands right now it seems pretty straight forward. Based on what we know so far: Zimmerman did not commit any crime leading up to the confrontation. Just because he was following the kid does not mean he deserves to have his head bashed into a sidewalk. Zimmerman has no offensive wounds on his body. He appears to be the one taking the beating, not giving. I'm pretty confident Zimmerman will walk.
  3. They are not required to check your permit. I was pumping gas while openly carrying. I cop pulled up behind me and started getting gas. He looked at me, looked at my gun, and went on about his business. Most cops in TN are used to interacting with armed citizens and don't care.
  4. That makes sense. Be sure to test the turning radius. We just bought a Toyota Rav4. It turns and parks 2x easier than my Acura RSX did. Some cars have a horrible turning radius. I imagine the Focus will be fine but you never know.
  5. CCA is hit or miss. I've had several bad experiences and a few good ones. The owner really is a world class prick though. I have heard him talk trash about a certain member here who really didn't seem to deserve it.
  6. Come on Willis, if you go out and drop 25K on a new vehicle you might only save $1000 or so in gas. But between the 2 vehicles listed I think the Focus makes more sense.
  7. I saw a preview for a movie coming out but it didn't say anything about being a mini-series. It looked really good though.
  8. Costner is one of my favorite actors. Don't get me started on how terrible Denzel and Nicholas Cage are.
  9. Either way it's a good movie.
  10. I was under the impression that when they changed the law so that the gunbuster was a legal posting it also made it illegal for off duty cops to carry past them. You are certainly more versed on TN law but I was told that from a LEO.
  11. That's an old video but I'm sure it's still making the people of Memphis proud.....
  12. The punishment does not fit the crime.
  13. 1) Glock 2) Ruger--love my LCR 3) Springfield 5) Taurus 4) Sig-----P238 was not very reliable 5) Beretta 6) CZ---won't feed hollow points---took a lot of work to eat FMJ's
  14. Here is my tacti"cool" Remington 870 TALO special edition. And my "old school" Winchester Defender 1300 on the left. The Winchester is my favorite.
  15. For the absolute cheapest I would say Wal-Mart is your best bet. For buckshot I like this. http://www.sgammo.com/product/winchester/250-rd-winchester-ranger-oo-buckshot-9-pellet-low-recoil-ra1200
  16. I just don't understand you strange hatred for seatbelts. This isn't the first time you posted about it on TGO. I do agree that I cannot say for absolute certainty that the seatbelt saved my life, but I'm pretty damn sure it helped. My face would have had a rough encounter with the windshield if I didn't have the seatbelt on. And I'm fairly certain the seatbelt saved your wife's life.......That example should be obvious. Are you suggestion that Nascar drivers should not wear any seat restraints either? Maybe Dale Jr would have lived if he had been ejected instead???
  17. Sorry to hear about this Gordon. Hopefully it will turn out to be something minor.
  18. My first handgun was a Taurus 24/7 compact. It was a great gun and I still miss it sometimes. I sold it to a member here and last I heard it was a victim of the Nashville Flood. That being said, I have heard too many horror stories about Taurus to buy another one. The only model that interests me is the 7 shot .357 snub noes they make.
  19. So you are saying the seatbelt caused their death? That's a big stretch. Seatbelts have saved thousands if not millions of lives. It saved mine.
  20. Apartments definitely cost more to rent down here than they did in Knoxville and gas seems to stay about .15 higher. Everything else seems relative. I appreciate the offer Brent! Once my GF finishes school we might be ready for a change of scenery.
  21. They have tight relationships with brick and mortar stores in those 3 states therefore they will not sell online for fear of hurting sales for those stores. You can't pick up in person either.
  22. ya ya ya. I hear you guys! I'll be back someday!
  23. It's amazing how high the prices are here in Orlando. Today I went into a local store and they had new Glocks listed for $599. Back in Knoxville I used to see them at the gun shows for as low as $480-499. The new flat dark earth models were in stock for a whopping $775. Ruger 10/22 listed at another gun store for $350. I used to see these in Knoxville for close to $200. S&W M&P Sport .223 listed at $800. In March I was in Knoxville and saw one at the gun show for $650 IIRC. Ruger LCR .22 listed for $560. These can be found for $385-400. Kahr CW9 priced at $460. Pretty sure I've seen these for $399. The list goes on. It isn't just Orlando though. I've been to gun stores near Tampa and the prices were just as high. The one thing that surprises me is that firearms training can be found in central Florida for much less money than it was back in Knoxville. This guy has a great reputation down here and his prices are very affordable. http://www.terryhallenterprises.com/ I guess the only point of this thread is to show that if you ever feel you're paying too much in TN, just think of what it would cost you elsewhere in the country. I have heard that new Glocks in MA and CA can cost $800. That's insane. I forgot to mention transfer fees. $50 is pretty much standard if you want to buy a gun online and transfer it in. I did find one pawn shop that does it for $25.
