  1. I've been out there with the guys a couple times. I'll probably see ya sometime out at Norris. I live about 20 min away. Welcome to the forum Daniel
  2. You gotta give more warning time!
  3. You should add a pf9 to those pics....lol. I think I'm already over it.
  4. Bud's. I have a HK45c ordered. CDNN didn't have it.
  5. V1(da/sa, safety, decocker). Spurred hammer and the safety lever give it away. ( Technically it could be a v9, but it's not available) EDIT: It seems I'm confused as to my version #s on the p30
  6. The p30 and HK45 are the best feeling pistols I've shot.... Well, maybe there was a 1911 or 2 I would put at the same level. They really figured out the ergonomics. (Disclaimer: I'm a bit of an HK fanboy)
  7. I may actually get around to it this month. I'm hoping to make it out to Norris this weekend but may end up working. That's a nice little target up there.
  8. HK Specialist - Product Display It's a grade C, but the one I got hadn't harly been shot. just a good bit of holster wear. You'll have to buy the scraper tool and cleaning brush though.
  9. I'll be at work till 5 tomorrow night. About 3 min from CCA. shoot me an email if your interested.
  10. I'd help out, but I seem to be buried in homework at the moment (indefinitely). Hopefully I'll be able to make it up there at some point.
  11. Well, it was double tap 115 grain +p. The first shot fired and was Gorky accurate. The second round failed to feed. I do not believe I limp wristed it but it is a possibility. I've not had a chance to try any other HP. The guy I got it from said it fed Speer gold dot just fine. As far as I could tell it was just too hot. Doubletap loads are at the top end of the spec. I got them to carry in my hk p7. Like I said, you're welcome to shoot it.
  12. I bought one last night. If you want to shoot it. Send me a PM. I can meet at norris or CCA or wherever else really. It's nice and small and does exactly what it's meant to. I tried a few hot +p rounds in it and had a bit of an issue. I'm not sure if it was me or the gun. (It is rated for +p with limited use, but it was pretty uncomfortable).
  13. Well, my opinion on CCA has changed a bit after my visit last night. The range is finally getting the much needed work and is starting to look pretty good. I was treated right when checking out the cabinet as well. Back on topic: South Clinton pawn is pretty good. I've bought 3 or 4 guns from them. I've also been to Frontier and while the customer service was friendly I wasn't overly impressed by the prices(I didn't try to bargain any though). I have used "The Gun Shack" in Luttrell to transfer the 3 guns I've ordered (25 for the transfer including tics). He doesn't have much in stock but is happy to order anything and has better prices than most other brick and mortar stores I've been in. If you're willing to drive, Tri-Cities Gun Depot is pretty nice. They have great prices and are building a reasonable stock.
  14. This seems like the best use to me. Would be a great snake gun. I shot cjr's last week and on paper the buckshot really did some damage. I'd like to see a slow motion vid of it hitting ballistics gel to see what kind of cavity it opens up. The box-o-truth shows limited penetration so it seems the rough equivilant would be 5 shots of 380 ball. One well designed hollow point should have much more penetration and cause a larger wound cavity. But for snakes, I'm not sure there's a better pistol. Just my thought.
  15. There's a new place in Luttrell that doesn't have much stock, but is happy to order anything. He's transferred 3 guns for me. ($25 including TICS for a transfer) Daniel
  16. I bought the last box. too bad there wasn't more there at the time
  17. It's still a Glock. Ugly as crap. I'm not sure I can see a use for that clip. I couldn't imagine carrying a Glock outside a holster.

    My HK's

I don't think you're going the wrong way. The hk45 is about as comfortable as the p30. I've been eying a 45c myself.
  19. Just picking a gun out of the list doesn't make much sense to me. How do you plan to carry? Also, don't buy anything until you've had a chance to shoot one.

    My HK's

The p7's are cool. I used to be very active on cpf, I just stop by once a week or so now. I guess I should take some pics of the light collection as well.

    My HK's

Nothing wrong with the HK kool-aid. I dont think it's too hazardous. Guns - Daniel Foster (smopoim86)'s Photos
  22. I think I'll take you up on that. The ruger can wait a little longer.

    22 mag vs 38+p

North American Arms has a ballistics page on their site showing what 22Mag does out of a snubby. That should give you a better idea of what to expect. It puts the 22Mag out of a pistol close to a 22lr out of a rifle. The 38 is the clear choice in my opinion. Shot shell will be much more effective against snakes and whatnot and the knockdown power should be vastly superior out of a pistol(compared to 22mag). Daniel
  24. Yes, I really know what I want, I just wanted some reassurance. As far as the mark II route, I dont know of a long stainless barrel option. (also the mark II i have is in rough shape). Anyone know where I can get one for under $500? I'm ok with used.
