Bought my XDs three weeks ago, have 200 rounds through it without any issues, 100 of those rounds were my 200gr lswc light target reloads. This little 45 seems to be able to feed any ammo. Recoil was a lot less than I expected and easy to control. Out to 30 ft, I could group within 4" shooting fairly fast. Small, easy to shoot, accurate, reliable, and a 45 cal. punch. It is my new IWB carry gun.

+1 they are terrible

Clays Without a doubt, very clean and accurate for target loads. I am loading 4grs under a lead 200gr swc. After 200 rounds the guns seem still fairly clean, as far as powder fouling. If you are shooting lead, expect fouling from the lube, how much depends on how good the lube. Hodgedon Clays if loaded within their published load range is one of the cleanest powders for the 45acp.

www.mastercast.net/ Here you go. I have used these, 200gr swc (H&G 68 copy) for many years, never a bad bullet, no leading in any of my six 1911s that are use for range beaters. The best of that style bullet of any I have tryed, as good or better priceing and fast shipping. You can tell I am a big fan Just remember heaver bullets shoot lower, the more distance the lower they hit. I shoot at 15yds or so and the POI is dead center. Good Luck

Any confined area has the chance of making it a "BOMB". I keep quite a bit on hand, some not used up in years, I store it in the jug it comes in, on a open shelf in the house. I think if that was NOT safe, all those retail stores would not do it that way. Just my thinking on this

Well, there is this. Good luck http://www.bullseyepistol.com/reloads.htm

RCBS ?? not mentioned, After buying & trying the ones mentioned, I found the RCBS PRO 2000, to be the best built, most reliable and easiest to use, at least for me. I found none to be "junk" just each had their pros and cons. I guess, It depends on what one expects from a press. This ain`t even close. http://www.comrace.c...yComparison.pdf With all respect to the OP, of course

sg552.2@gmail.com contact for the SAM LAM bushing. Just put one in my MK111. Sam is a great guy and will let you know when he gets the $10 from you and when he sends the bushing. It took 10 days and the bushing was perfect as was the fit. Go to detailstrip for a little extra help a first time detail-strip. I lost the safety plunger in the carpet, got with a magnet and some luck. GO SLOW

I checked out their web site, looks and sounds good, have you found any performance info on their 45 ammo? Just thinking, at that price point it must be pretty good, but would like to know. If you test any, post what you find, I would like to hear more about it.

New Gun Shop and Gunsmith in Cleveland, TN
j2flan replied to a topic in Gunsmithing & Troubleshooting
nice store and people, John Miller the gunsmith there has worked on several of my 1911s in the past good job at a fair price. -
It ain`t the brass, some of the brass I have, has been loaded at least 24 times ( mixed head stamps and never never trimed) and accuracy is every bit as good as any new brass I might get ahold of. Unless the load got messed-up I would say "barrel fouling" and a lot of it.

no ideas on how to sturdy her up? yea , even with a Lee turret-- needs to be real sturdy.
-
D&G closed, but John Miller has moved his gunsmith shop to GUN SLINGERS on Old Tasso rd. Just a side note he just did a great trigger job on my Gov. mod. it went from a very rough 6lb to a crisp 3lb, nice.

If your 1911 does not have the FPS (series 70) you can use either one, but not the other way arround.

gregintenn There are 45acp bullets made, that are for revolvers that DO HAVE crimp groves brcause of bullet run-out (like in +loads) Some how I was thinking the OP was talking pistol not revolver. Sorry for not being more clear
-
You are real close to just right with your load. As far as OAL, you are a little long. 45 ACP fmj do not have crimp groves, I have been reloading and shooting the 45 ACP for a great many years, 200 to 300 rounds, once or twice a week and have NEVER trimed the first case, there is no need. Your TAPER crimp should be at .469/ 470 just enough to take the "bell" out of the brass. The OAL can change with the bullet profile, some will be at 1.20 to factory FMJ somewhare at 1.265, BTW I have shot 1000s of the load you are loading ( 1.25 oal) with very good results, thinking that you are talking about the 230gr FMJ.

World's Largest Supplier of Firearm Accessories, Gun Parts and Gunsmithing Tools - BROWNELLS Push a correct size punch thru the hole to see if there is a pin there. If not the ejector may have just been glued. If you want to remove the ejector, place the ejector in a vise and pull the frame away carefully in a strait line, you don`t want to break one of the legs off in the frame, If the ejector has a notch in the front leg you can just order a pin from the above web site. If you need/want a new ejector you will need to notch the front leg to pin it in. I just finished one useing a small triangle file to cut the notch, a little tricky to cut the notch the right depth, but with no mech. ability, it fit fine. If you buy, try to buy one that matches the one you have, or you may have to reshape it to get a proper ejection pattern, you can use the one you have as a model. Good luck

Where do you buy your reloading supplies?
j2flan replied to enfield's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
If your in SE ten.-- Bentons Shooters Supply hwy 411 in Benton They have a good supply of reloading stuff, but are high priced. Bullseye powder $20.00/ lb, primers $40.00/ 1000. It is a very nice store & Big, with the most guns under roof I have seen. Everthing seems fair priced except reloading componets.
