    that XDS recall

Sent mine in last Oct. and had to wait 72 days to get it back. I should have waited, it fuctioned and shot fine. A week or two turn arround is great.
  4. Can`t say enough good about RCBS CS, I have even offered to buy parts that I broke,( my doing), they wouldn`t take my money, just sent out the part. OUTSTANDING
  5. Hey runningfree, Not long ago I reloaded a batch of 200, 45acp brass 51 times just to see how many times they could go. This is with light target loads and cases belled at a min. Some  cases started splitting after about  25 trips but only a few , and when I tossed them they were really beat-up. This is what you might want to hear, when I tossed them they were shorter than when first loaded. There is no need to trim pistol cases.
  6. I know after I shoot them I will never see them again, I shoot a lot, so all I ask is that they are accurate and under .09 ea for 45acp. there are plenty of casters that meet that need. Plated and jacketed are just not in the budget, and most ain`t as accurate as the cast for range work.
  7. IF, with the barrel out, your rounds "plunk" right into the barrel without a hitch, I would look to the magazine. My 229, I been shooting since 1996, will run fine with reduced recoil springs (light reloads) and standard 16LB spring that has cycled over 5,000 times. Could be the spring, but I would check all that has been mentioned and that mag. Good luck      Go here for the original part >> http://www.topgunsupply.com/sig-sauer-p229-gun-parts/
  8. That is how they are -- I am an avid reloader, on a PRO 2000, for the past 11yrs, and I have broke a part or two, my fault alone, and they have ALWAYS refused payment for those parts that I told them I broke. No other company I know of, does that, yea, they are great. Oh, I just remembered, I beat the cap off a pullet puller, a while back, they even replaced that.
  9. I would go down there every couple months, NEVER AGAIN, they support gun control, and I value my rights way too much to spend a dime there. I won`t sell my soul, by doing bussiness with DICKS, SORRY, but what they did, really hurt.
  10. I think, at first, they were called "cooling fins" put there to keep the slide from getting too hot.   NOPE,  don`t like the look at all.
  11.   600 Months from now ??? That is NOT that long. Just checked GUNBOT, the cheapest 22lr, instock, was 30 cents per round. so if you only shoot a "brick" that is $150 per one range trip. Yea, I can wait, I will only be 135 ys old.   :pleased:
  12. http://www.americanclassic1911forum.com/forumsii/showthread.php?78-Spring-Things-Recoil-and-the-1911&s=7a8a69a2b7994  here is an intresting read on 1911 recoil springs. Recoil springs do take a "set" but that dosen`t change their work rate. Hope this helps some.
  13.   Did try them, as said, no problem. MBC has a HUGE customer base, that swear by them. Although not my favorite bullet. Not saying that they can`t lead some barrels. Some lubes are better than others, I do load and shoot about 20,000 45 acp 200gr lswc a year and have no or, almost no visable leading after shooting 200 to 400 per range trip. I have never needed to re-lube a already lubed bullet. I get your point, that you can make, and lube, better than you can buy. No doubt   The OP wanted to know if he would have to work-up a load for the 12 vs 18 BHN bullet, my answer was, I didn`t think so.
  14. 4grs of BE is a target load for the 200gr lswc. That is what MBC made that bullet alloy for. They are already lubed, won`t do you any good to add more lube. I would think your loads will be fine . I have shot a "ga-zillion"  of the 200gr. lswc, mostly from MASTERCAST, But, 1000s  from PENN, MBC, and S&S which are 17/18 BHN or 12/14  BHN and found no more, or less, leading with target loads ranging from 3.5 gr of BE, to 4.5 grs. If the bullet is correctly lubed and sized and driven at speeds that are in the ball park for target loads, and you get a lot of leading, it is more than likely not the bullet.   Bottom line,  MBC bulids a good bullet, with the loads you stated, I would think, your concern would be about accuracy. Best of luck
  15. They are good to deal with, I ordered some primers in Jan. the next day they showed them out of stock, I was worried, but they showed up ahead of schedule. I have never had an issue with a order from PVI. Seems like they try hard to ship what they can ASAP.
  16. This^  JWC & Caster should be marketing managers for CCI
  17. I have two S&W 1911s , one the 108285, was doing the same thing every now and then, I could not find any S&W extractor issues on the fourms other than the "hook" needed cleaning, and mine looked ok, So I looked elsewhere. It would make no differance changing the fireing pin stop as it has nothing to do with the extractor, and the extractor can not "clock" Check the extractor to see if it is binding due to crud and the hook for damage and fouling. If all is good, chances are it ain`t the extractor.    I found my cases were getting crunched because of mag, and or spring issue. I replaced the recoil spring and then found I had a magazine that wasn`t holding the last round. changed that, and no more crunched brass. Good Luck
  18. Same here, just checked their web site--no 22lr. BTW, the largest LGS arround here has the 375rd CCI pack in stock for $75.00, had to leave it with them.
  19. http://www.tacti-cool.com/detail-disassembly/ This will help with your XDs. Great gun, mine shoots anything I feed it , never a jam of any kind and very accurate. IT is my EDC.  You can read a lot about this gun on the XD fourm. Big thing is to keep it clean especially the striker and its channel and it will never miss a beat.
  20. FRUIT JAR  ---  Putting out misinformation ain`t good, IF, that was the intention, hope not.    I just talked to Mike Symbala, owner of Mastercast.net. He said demand is up but he has most cast bullets in stock and they are expanding their line of cast bullets. Their web site is CLEAR--NO MORE LOADED AMMO, this does not apply to cast bullets. You must of went to the wrong site or read their message wrong???   Again, IMHO, these are the are the best CAST BULLETS I have found and their price and service is top notch. BTW, my bullet order is at the PO as I write.      REGARDS
  21.    NO, they just stopped their loaded ammo sales, so they could devote more time to casting. Read the "Important Message" at the top of their web page. BTW, just placed a order and got a e-mail that it is on the way.
  22. http://mastercastbullets.com/> This one>  Ordered 4000, 200gr lswc ( two orders) the bullets are not quite from a H&G 68 mold, just a tad short, there were about 50 that were missing lube or the lube was partly missing. They messed-up the second order, had to call. Most of the bullets were fine, accurate and did not lead my 1911s and by far and away the best price out there. If you are on a budget, they are a good deal if the order goes as it should.   http://www.mastercast.net/ This one>  I have ordered over 50,000 from Mike and Kate never a problem with an order, I have found only ONE bullet that wasn`t perfect. The bullets (200gr lswc) are as good or better than any, and I have tryed that bullet from just about all the major bullet makers. A better price than most, fast shipping and good customer service. I try others, but keep going back to them.
  23. ??  Must be limited for time.

    help picking 45

Maybe, not a 45. If it has to be, try a few first, at a range or at a friends place. Good luck
