  1. Y'all caught something about the Glenn and Maggie thing I missed aparrently. I got the impression he was giving her the cold shoulder or just not interested in her like that.
  2. Are you kidding me!? I'd stand in line to buy a ticket for that movie!
  3. Just once I'd like to watch a zombie show/movie where characters see the beginning of the apocalypse and say 'oh crap, zombies'. But NOOOOOO, they gotta waste valuable time looking around and trying to figure out what's going on. Do you know anyone who HASN'T seen a zombie movie?
  4. Seeing characters leave good weapons behind drives me nuts in shows/movies! Seems to me physical security w/ zombies lurking ALWAYS trumps other necessessities.
  5. With all them walkers headed to the farm, they're gonna miss ol' Shane. Add me to the Daryll for MVP poll...proof that A Country Boy Can Survive!
  6. Ain't that always the case? The places you need a machette most are the places you can't have one.
  7. I can't speak for the ones Reg has on his, but the Beretta plates slid right on like they were made to fit. I'm heading to my garage now to see if the rubber baseplates on any of my CZ 75 mags will fit my CZ 82. I'll let you know later, but I bet they fit just fine.
  8. Sorry I didn't see this earlier (still getting used to the new forum software). I used these baseplates for a Beretta 92 or 96. They were on sale for $4 each at the time, but they still aren't bad at $6 now.
  9. I would NEVER pick up any brass but my own with out asking first. That being said, I'm sure he figured you'd speak up if you wanted him to stop. So, 'thief' is just slightly harsh and is 'discourteous' not quite harsh enough. Personally, I'd say the guy was 'presumptuous' at best and 'inconsiderate/self-absorbed' at worst.
  10. I dig the shooting part of the show, but hate the reality part. They do get to do some cool stuff on there. BTW...that jacka$$ last year that pouted about getting voted to go to elimination and decided to sleep outside almost ruined the whole series for me
  11. I hate to jump in with this unrelated note, especially since I have no skin in this game, but I've been to Lebanon Gun Shop several times. The owner, David, is a good guy and he's really trying hard to build a good business (unlike his competition across town). Good help is often hard to find, but I admit, that's not a good excuse. I don't care for the kid, George, that works for him, but he's better than the kid at the sporting goods counter at Walmart. You know how it is some times when the boss is away, right? I really hate to hear that was your first impression of his shop. Hope y'all give him another try.
  12. If it were me and I could only take one of my guns with me, I'd take my CZ 75 Shadow...hands down. If I could carry there, I'd have chosen my CZ P-01 instead. Admittedly, my Glock 17 would have been a close 3rd, but it's accuracy just doesn't stack up against either of my CZs.
  13. I should have been more clear...the P-01 isn't any wider at the back end, which is where the pistol is the widest. It's bulkier at the muzzle because of the full-length dust cover, which, to me, makes the gun feel bulky all around. It still carries well, though. The truth of the matter is that the compacts, at their widest point, are all exactly the same width (1-3/8"). I know you said you don't care about the weight, but the PCR and the P-01 are virtually the same weight, around 27-28 oz. The 75 compact is a full 4 ounces heavier thanks to the steel instead of alloy. Speaking of the RAMI, hey Jonnin, my bad dude. Saying it sucks may have been too rash. The RAMI is a fine gun judged by reliability, accuracy, craftsmanship, and durability. My gripe is that compared to other sub-compacts it's too heavy and too wide for its height and length. The grip length is no worse than any other sub-compact, but the OP is comparing it to CZ compacts. IMO, ANY sub-compact would "suck" in comparison to a CZ compact. So, no hard feelings, eh?
  14. I wouldn't swear to it, but I'm almost positive the 75 D PCR is the newest. Their original compact guns were the 75 Compact and the 75 D Compact (the "D" means it has a decocker), both were all steel and had no light rails. They were too heavy to compete in the EDC compact pistol market, so they came out with the PCR. It used an aluminum alloy frame, but had no light rail. Then they expanded the aluminum alloy framed 75 compacts by adding a decocker to one and calling it a 75 D Compact, replacing the steel one, which wasn't selling well. NATO was asking for a light compact w/ decocker and rail, so they made one. When it passed all the NATO testing, they dubbed it the P-01. It sold well, but it's wider than the other compacts, but totally awesome (I love mine). I like my P-01, but the added bulk the light rail adds to the frame isn't worth it to me. The 75 D PCR looks AWESOME! P.S. You're right, the RAMI sucks. One more thing...DrCelica is right about the complexity of the decocker models. You also can't get the trigger as smooth either, because of how/where the decocking mechanism interacts with the hammer and other sear cage parts.
  15. One of those Ghost connectors, can't recall which, has cuto-uts along it to keep debris from getting caught b/w the connector and the inside of the frame. I wonder if that would help the issue some are having with the trigger? FWIW...I've had no issues whatsoever w/ my Gen4 G17 and the standard ghost 3.5# connector, 6# trigger spring, reduced power fps spring, and .25 trigger job. I wish there was enough consistency in mfg for everyone to have the exact same results.
  16. I have it on good authority that the lil black kitty is being adopted by the Jack Links sasquatch as soon as he can save up to have it spayed or neutered.
  17. Sshhh! You know they're listening, right? Be careful or you'll get us all locked up.
  18. I put a regular 3.5 pound Ghost connector and a Wolf spring kit (6 # trigger spring, 4# firing pin spring, and reduced power firing pin safety spring) in mine and did the 25 cent trigger job graycrait mentioned (be REAL careful to only polish the contact points of the parts - the process should not remove any metal). It made a world of difference in the pull and got rid of almost all of that bendy plastic feel of the original trigger.
  19. When I got mine, I ordered it online, sight unseen. I have no regrets...especially for the price. The problem I suspect you'll run into is that few if any shops stock them. The original finish is not very likely to impress you much. It's usually flaking and chipping from heavy use or worn off and dull in the case of moderate use. They can be made to look great for a little of nothing. I had mine cerakoted, added Marschal grips, and substituted Beretta mag baseplates. All sum total, including the original gun price, I have around $350 in it.

    Found my new love

Nice guns. I like them both. If yours had his finish...I'd call it perfect.
  21. I'm sure most of us hope the victim isn't charged with anything at all. I for one think from the few facts we have so far, he did real good. It's sad to me that he'd even have to worry at all, but this is what happens when you take too much "justice" out of our legal system.
  22. You guys make good points both ways, but the more comments I read, the less I think it makes a difference either way. The BG in the OP probably didn't "see" the sign at all, but that may or may not have been a deterent either way.
