  1. They should stake out all the stores that sell spf 100 sun screen or put out a BOLO for a tired, sweaty lobster red, skin head looking dude.
  2. This has been a common complaint for years. I'd like to think they either reworked the firing pin channel geometry or switched to better steel than the injection molded striker they were using. Either way, I've heard tale of some calling CZ to get a replacement before theirs actually broke, so they'd have one when it happens. I'm not sure if that works or if they ask for a pic of the broken part. Either way, most people admit this comes with excessive dry-firing w/out snap caps or an O-ring. I think a gun should be able to tolerate dry-firing w/out harming the weapon, but if it's a known issue that might be a way to avoid it. I'd still buy the tool hardened CGW striker if it were me, just to be safe. Whatever you decide to do, I wish you the best of luck. I really hate when my favorite brand of gun has known issues and doesn't fix it right.
  3. Looks like he'll be looking for the eye bleach after that.
  4. When I was in HS, our FFA livestock judging team used to hit the Mr. Gatti's buffet on the way back from field trips. I know that mgr hated seeing 7 or 8 big ol teenage boys coming. One of our guys, once put down 22 slices if pizza (crust and all) on a bet.
  5. a friend of mine suggested making pizza on flour tortillas, because we like thin crust. He was right it's awesome unless you don't like thin crust.
  6. I worked at a REALLY cool IT shop about 12 yrs ago that was run by mostly vets. That being said, bringing "toys" to work to show off was not only welcome, it was encouraged. Seeing who could build an AR the cheapest was a fun game. One guy brought me a box of parts to assemble that literally cost him $279. It ran like crap no matter what I did to it, LOL. Another guy wanted to see how prissy an AR could be and brought me about $1300 worth of parts to assemble. In his defense it ran like a top and never had any problems, but jeez that's a lot of bucks for a DIY AR. Despite that one being so smooth, most of the $500 rifles ran just fine too. An adjustable gas block and a CHF barrel were the 2 parts that I feel affected performance and accuracy the most. A good trigger helps too, but discipline and some polishing can mostly overcome that. A crappy barrel or poor cycling, not so much.
  7. Final price drop before I move it into the hand me down safe
  8. I like the bear spray idea, but predicting where to aim the darn thing might be hard. I'd bet deer don't love the smell of it either, so it might run them off too.

    A KelTec Wave?

I am SO glad you mentioned the P3AT and P32. They set the bar so high on size/weight for pocket pistols that it hasn't been beaten in 25+ years. I'd NEVER sell my P32. It's the best BUG money can buy, IMHO. I'm not crazy about some of their other guns (this one included), but I admire the company overall for setting trends instead of following them.
  10. That'll leave a pucker mark in leather seat
  11. Another vote here for Zenni. They're about the cheapest online and I think they're punching slightly above their weight class on quality for the price. My favorite thing about them is they let you enter your own Rx. This lets me play around with the script, like adjusting the PD based for readers vs distance or cutting the +add amount in half from readers to make computer glasses. My sphere is a negative number and once I accidentally added the +add for readers wrong and they still replaced them w/in 30 days. You can't beat that. In fact, I kind of felt guilty taking them up on that offer since it was my fault. For shooting I tried using my computer glasses because the script is for focusing at arm's length, so that sounded perfect for seeing the front sight. However, it didn't work past 10 yds because the target was too blurry for me to see. So, I just use my normal distance glasses for shooting, driving, the movie theater, etc.

    A KelTec Wave?

I can't fathom 500 people wanting that let alone 1000 people per week.
  13. I love this guy's comparison of .03-06, 7.62x54R, and .308
  14. my favorite comment was "New fear unlocked" That's a crazy powerful round and the barrels are built like tanks. The receiver, not so much though. That story about the bolt being driven backwards into one shooter's should gave me the heebie jeebies too. That could have been WAY worse.
  15. Those were the good ol days, huh? I remember thinking I needed 2 days to see everything and most of it was really good stuff, like private booths.
  16. You PM'd me about this last week and I replied, saying those are Ruger logos on the grip medallions. I can see the resemblance to S&W grips though.
  17. If it feels good now, the Hogue grip might make it feel too big and/or change the feel of the grip. Have you ever tried Talon Grips? They add almost no thickness and do not change the grip profile. Just another option to consider, hope you enjoy your CZ.
  18. Me too, but I'm managing to cope. I took some pics of the dot w/ my camera and compared it to what I see. It wasn't that bad, so I'm trying to make the best of it.
  19. I'm not sure but it'd be the prettiest Glock they ever made.
  20. I'm a recent convert to pistol red dots. I was worried I'd have trouble picking up the dot and didn't like the idea of all that bulk on my carry gun. Now I wish I hadn't waited so long.
  21. Every once in a while I find a deal at Academy and swing by to pick it up. Most of time I buy online and wait until there's a deal AND always buy enough to get free shipping. Bucking Horse Outpost and Flip Ammo have consistently good prices. I picked up a bunch of Blazer 124 gr from BHO last week for $11.25/box. BTW, it's still available at that price: https://buckinghorseoutpost.com/cci-blazer-brass-9mm-124-grain-full-metal-jacket-round-nose-50rds-per-box-5201-limit-5-free-shipping-on-orders-over-200/
  22. I see all the good they could have done if there hadn't been so much corruption too. However, I'm with you on this. They aren't perfect, but they CERTAINLY aren't my enemy.
