  1. Naturally, I hope it doesn't happen again either. I have my doubts about this wall idea, but I get why they are considering it. For the wall to work it'd neede to be pretty tall, which seems like an expensive solution. Otherwise, a 6 or 8 foot wall would just be for show. Last I heard they had some hunters/shooters that were target practicing nearby and an illegal w/ an AK-47 just wandering around. I can't wait to hear what their ballistics report proves.
  2. I think you may have stumbled onto something...a new motto for the machinists union: "I'll give you my lathe when you take it from my cold, dead hands"
  3. There was an article about a school shooting on Comcast.net this morning. It's really brief for now, since the cops don't have much to do, but wait... Texas school may build safety wall after shooting | US National Headlines | Comcast.net I hope the bullets recovered turn out to be 7.62X39. Regardless, what do you think of their proposed solution?
  4. I'm sure that Romney vs BarryO is a coin toss. I suspect the best 3 for the job (Huntsman, Santorum, and Bachmann) have no chance in the primary. And Rick Perry is a punchline waiting on a joke. I doubt Paul has a shot in the general election. Even though I like his economics enough to vote for him, I loathe his foreign policy enough to pass. So, I'm holding my nose and checking the box beside Newt's name, since Cain is out of the race.
  5. I'm a big fan of Benchmade, myself. I've only had a couple, but they were very well made and kept an edge better than anything else I've owned. The downside of good edge retention is it takes a little more work to sharpen them...worth it though. I've been carrying a Kershaw Leek for a couple of weeks now and I have to say, it's working out very well. Excellent blade shape and I love that I can switch the clip to tip-up or tip-down. I haven't had to sharpen it yet, so I can't comment on edge retention yet.
  6. That's an impressive shovel! You might wear yourself out faster hacking at stuff than you would with a machete, but not nearly as fast as you would trying to dig a whole with blade, LOL.
  7. That is art right there! I'd never be able to use it cut anything with...too darn pretty!
  8. Sounds like a lot more fun than setting snares. Me and my grandpa used to stay up and ambush coons that would get into the garden and hen house. I'd hold the light and he'd hold the double-barrelled 12 gauge. One night we killed 2 coons and about half a row of sweet corn. After that, he got a dog.
  9. These snares are basically a galvanized a slip-knot. One end has a swivel used to tie off to a limb or stake. The other end is the washer lock that creates the slip-knot. Asuming yours are the 5' they are coyote snares, they create a 12" loop that can be hung vertically along a culvert or known trail. The coyote will snare himself as he walks through the loop.
  10. Sorry Cap'n, becoming zombies would be the only appeal this crowd ever had with me, LOL.
  11. I was a few people behind you when we got to the door. By the time we got branded and herded through the chute you were way ahead of me (I literally look at everything...why not, I paid to get in). I got me a knife and 4 others to give as gifts. Aside from that, just baubles and trinkets. You? I expected the SP to sell faster, but at what the geezers offered offered for the Six I'm not surprised you left with both. My daughter's present caused a HUGE rift. My wife is so jealous! She thinks I should give it to her instead, LOL. I said no way...I get to be Super Santa this year.
  12. +1 on the Ontario...got the same model then did this ( ) to it and contoured the grip with finger grooves. It's a beast now.
  13. I was behind BlackVanDriver in line when the hag was looking for a camera. I wish I had stayed home. This is why I haven't been to a BG show in so long. The RK Show in M'boro is way better.
  14. Last year, I finally found a good one for sale at the same time I had some money. Really fun gun to shoot. Yes, they're loud...yes, the muzzle blast rivals a snub-nosed .44 mag...and yes, they're darn near as accurate as a mediocre .22 rifle. I got mine along with reloading dies, some Starline brass, bullets, and.....A 9MM REPLACEMENT BARREL!! I couldn't believe the same mags handle both rounds. You can literally change it over from 7.62 to 9mm as fast as you can load a couple of magazines. I wouldn't sell mine for twice what I paid.
  15. A quick shot to the head is too good for these pieces of crap.
  16. Hey, what you got against Bill Murray? Zombieland and Groundhog Day are on my DVD list for a desert island. Love the rest of the lists...wish I'd remembered Michael Vick.
  17. If jtmaze's wife is right, I might owe you some shotgun shells if I took that bet. More over, I must be too ugly to land a hot chick, because I've been pretty impressed with 'doin it' skills of every woman I've been lucky enough to sleep with. That, or ignorance is bliss.

    Glock Gen 4

I only had a few months of trigger time on a Gen 3 before I traded it. It was enough time to REALLY appreciate the difference in that trigger and the Gen 4 trigger that I have now. The fact that the Gen 3 was a G34 and the Gen 4 is a G17 makes a slightly unfair comparison. However, the competition connector and all explain the light, smooth, crisp break that the G34 had, but not why the Gen4 feels all mushy. It's almost like something plastic is bending during take-up. Any idea why? I heard that Glock sent out a lot of replacement recoil springs due to issues, like you mentioned. At the GSSF match I worked last May, I asked the factory guy about that. He said the recoil spring issue was mostly on guns with lights attached. He said something about the lights preventing the frame from flexing properly during recoil, so they had to go with a heavier spring to compensate. That makes sense, but I don't believe that bit about the issue being mostly on guns with lights. Do you?
  19. If you could call dibs on being the one that gets to shoot any 3 celebrity zombies, who would they be? Here's mine: 1. Michael Moore 2. Rosie O'Donnell 3. Jon Stewart
  20. When the zombie apocalypse happens, I'm so hoping I'm the one that gets to shoot Johnny Depp. I call dibs on Michael Moore, too.
  21. As Jonnin said, consider your audience here. Regardless of what conclusions we draw from any evidence presented, I think most of us are going to go on asssuming that if it "can" happen, we have to take steps to prevent it from happpening to us. It's like saying "I hate you Bell Witch" however many times into a mirror on a full moon at midnight or whatever. Probably BS, but why go out of your way to tempt fate, LOL.
  22. Good question. With all the shootings reported, you'd think there'd be more instances if it was a serious concern. I obviously does happen, but not often enough compared to the over-penetration hype.
  23. I started feeling a little queezy when I thought about these 2 "together"...just gross and wrong. Speaking of Carol...another timeline anomaly...T-Dog's arm seems to have healed and Carl's up walking around after pretty serious surgery, but why hasn't her hair gotten any longer? Maybe the landscaping zombies that keep the grass trimmed in the neighborhoods do her hair too when we aren't looking.

    Glock Gen 4

That's a very smart move on their part. Unless they share components that work better for on than the other, they seem to have found a way to have teir cake and eat it too.
