  2. Let me ask this question then. If someone were to post a question asking what the members thought about the new Chevy 3500 diesel pickup truck….would an appropriate reply be “Well diesel is just a more expensive gasoline, think bout that.” Idk why that would even be a topic that comes up, when in my question I was asking for thoughts on a specific firearm… not anyone’s opinion on this caliber vs that caliber. To me, it’s a crazy way to reply to anything. I have 22mags and I have 5.7s. I’m full aware of the cost of each, and full aware of the abilities of each. I know for myself that 5.7 isn’t just “overpriced 22wmr”. Sure, it’s more expensive but it does more. Velocity, energy, reliability in ignition because it’s not a rimfire, feeding from a magazine because it’s not a rimmed cartridge, etc. Based any metric you want to evaluate it by, it’s not a true statement other than the fact that they are both .22 caliber projectiles and one round does typical cost more than the other. Other than that, they are wildly different cartridges.
  3. It’s actually not. It holds quite a bit of power over 22mag. People say this all the time and it’s just not true. Of the several TC 10” Contender barrels I have, one is a 22mag and one is a 5.7x28. I’ve shot all sorts of critters with both of them. The 5.7 is quite a bit more. My 5.7 barrel gets dang near on average 400 fps more in the same length versus 22mag. That’s not “basically overpriced 22mag”.
  4. Anyone got an LC Charger in 5.7x28? Been thinking about picking one up was curious what people thought about them. My primary use case would be varmints/critters around the house and range plinking/camp gun.
  5. Reduced to $300
  6. Bump, any offers?
  7. I love my hog saddle, best money I ever spent. It has helped me smoke quite a few coyotes over the years
  8. All the cool stuff is in middle TN...
  9. Bump
  10. I think you have hit the nail on the head.
  11. Correct, I haven’t hunted with it yet. I have only had it at the range from the bench and in field positions practicing for hunting season. Got 100 rounds of the cheap 145 fmj to break the barrel in and I believe I’ve put about 180 rounds of the 170gr hunting ammo through it. I don’t really have any concerns at all, it shoots very well and I’m sure it would absolutely slap deer at the ranges I hunt in the foothills of east TN. It just doesn’t seem to me that it has scratched the itch I was looking for it to do. What you mention about using a different upper on it is one reason I did go with the AR platform for it. I love the platform and have hunted coyotes for years, and I’m sure it would do just as well in the deer woods. Maybe that’s why it doesn’t “feel” like it’s scratched the itch because I have hunted coyotes for so long with ARs. I’ve got plenty of hunting guns, more than I need as most of us probably do, I just decided this past spring when I started this that I would do something different for this year. Not that it’s a big deal at all to keep it or let it go to a new home, I’m more curious why I “feel” this way and I think maybe you helped me find that. Maybe it’s just because I’ve hunted ‘yotes for so long with them.
  12. Tried sending you a PM but it said you couldn’t receive messages. Can you send me one?
  13. So earlier this spring I wanted a different type deer rifle. So I did some reading and studying and ended up building an Aero Precision 350 legend AR upper. Topped it with a Vortex Viper 2.5-10x44 scope and ordered 500 rounds of Hornady American Whitetail 170gr factory ammo. It’s a great shooting rifle, very accurate. I just don’t know that it scratched the itch like I thought that it would. I’ve coyote hunted for several years with several different ARs of all sorts of configurations and I’m super comfortable and confident on that platform so idk what it is about this one. I’m sure the rifle and round is fully capable as it’s been 100% reliable contrary to what I found in my research of parts, I bought the parts with the best reviews for reliability (Aero XL upper, Aero barrel has larger polished feed ramps, Wilson combat modified 300 blackout magazines, etc). Has anyone else ever headed in a direction with a gun then thought, why did I go down this road??? LOL
  14. SOLD
  15. Bump. Will consider trades on LPVO's or 9mm pistols (Glocks and M&P are prefered). I can add cash on my end as needed.
  16. Dang if we were closer I’d buy these in a heartbeat. Idk why but I want to shoot a deer with a 223 lol
  17. As the title says I’m looking for a couple Magpul BTR or BSL AR pistol braces. Also wouldn't mind trying an SB Tactical SBA5. Anyone got one you wanna sell?
  18. Red dots sold, just the Swampfox left
  19. FOUND
  20. Sold
  21. Another Bump, will consider all trades
