  1. cdnn has cz-82 makarov pistols for $149 IIRC
  2. Jonathan here from just outside chattanooga. long time reader/lurker - just took the plunge and joined as a benefactor. mostly interested in concealed carry and pistol shooting. I'd like to get into that more actually. I'm also interested in skeet/trap but I have zero experience in that. In my neck of the woods? Lets go shooting together!
  3. a local hospital has a "gunbuster" sign on the door and under it it says "weapons prohibited" is this a legally binding sign or merely a suggestion? i mean there are the "cig buster" signs that say no smoking on property and the employees stand right outside the door smoking so... Seriously though, from the TN code it would appear that the sign must state something along the lines of "according to TN state law - carrying a firearm on this property is against the law" - etc. is the gunbuster sign enough for them to post?
  4. I have the C (charlie) model. I love it. I live in the chattanooga area if anyone wants to try it out sometime. shoot me a PM or something. its a great little gun. It does need a flash suppressor though, as it doesn't come with one (threaded barrel though). the darn thing blows flame out the end... I replaced the proprietary keltec pin with a 1/4" hitch pin with snapring for easy breakdown. Its my bug out gun/backpacking gun.
  5. GT Distributiors. GT Distributors - America's Law Enforcement supply specialist in rossville, ga (just south of chattanooga) has LE glocks. They are $398.20 - they sell to TN residents too - they have an agreement with a shop across the line in TN. give em a call 1-800-775-5996
  6. I think he's thinking of Frost Cutlery. located on mountain view road in Ooltewah they have a small outlet/retail area - its their main shipping facility however there is an area open to the public. Frost Cutlery Company 6861 Mountain View Rd. Ooltewah, TN 37363
  7. I was digging around for surplus military gear the other day (truck parts, storage boxes etc) and I stumbled across this site run by gov liquidation called unclesamsretailoutlet . some cool stuff on there. well there is a whole section dedicated to spent brass - lake city stuff. .223, 7.62 (308), and 50bmg 100 rounds polished once fired .223 is $13.99 shipped 35 POUNDS (2400 casings) of polished (!) once fired .223 is $144.95 (no free shipping) anyway, no affilation with this place but maybe a legit place to score some spare brass for reloading at a decent price. Shop Brass | Surplus On Demand
  8. I own a G19 and a PF9. G19 is my 9 month of the year carry gun, pf9 is my summer carry gun. I do hate the kick of the darn thing though. The taurus and bersa are the same price and better fit and finish and more accurate and better handling from what i've read. if you have to have a kel tec PM me... I see we live in the same town. we can go to the range and you can shoot it and see what you think.
  9. anyone have any experience with mech tech? Mech Tech Systems, Inc. they make a carbine upper that you put a glock or 1911 lower into... starting at like $349
  10. coming from knoxville? forget chattanoga- get off exit 36 - charleston and go to fugates firearms behind the bowater paper plant. $5 for 30 minutes or $7.50 for 1 hour. B-22 silhoute targets are only 40 cents each - 6 lanes, great ventilation and carmen and doug are super awesome. they are only open a few days a week during the summer though... call ahead. definately the best deal in the "area" its 40 minutes 1 way for me to go there so i don't go often.
  11. i know its quite a bit bigger but i carry a keltec pf9. I can conceal under a t-shirt and shorts and my wife only notices when I ask her if she can tell i'm packing. Only then does she notice the bump of the handle (i wear fairly tight t-shirts) 7+1 in a familiar round is comforting to me (winter time i carry a g19)
  12. Cobra - their NEW gun prices are around that of the jennings/raven/phoenix/hi point (not grouping those all in the same quality group) just saying prices NEW should be like $120-150. At a pawnshop in hixson (outside chattanooga) recently they had this same gun for $69. If you want a small gun that packs a punch - NAA 22 Mag revolver - 5 shot little beast. opinion on the cobra (what you asked for) run away. save the money and put it towards a gun you really want. $150 saved from this + $150 saved from another 'saturday night special' purchase = $300 good gun = you happy
  13. used guns are open to anyone. guy in front of me last week got a used g26 for $339
  14. I just bought this product called pistolwear - i am interested in packing while running as well. they have several models for different carry styles/sizes of firearms. and... one of them can be worn as a chest/underarm harness. I'll let you know how it works when it gets here (under $35 shipped) a video review on youtube (not me) comparing bellyband and the pistolwear http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ckleSYzy3i8 I found a product similar to smartcarry holster called tactipac (tactipac.com) it looks very much the same but its quite a bit cheaper $35 shipped

    Shooters Depot

I joined the range 2 weeks ago - got the pre-sale price. at this point, I still feel like its a gamble... I am mostly excited about the range. I feel like GT has better ammo prices, but their limits are very restricting... 1 box of duty ammo/month c'mon! Speaking of GT... they are having a sale today and tomorrow.
  16. I got a wasr-10 (AK) from classicarms for $349 - after transfer/background/shipping I was under $400 - got brass cased 7.62x39 from them for $0.19/rnd too
  17. ok so its back together... can't get it apart again. hammer doesn't drop when trigger is pulled. i'm waiting till next week to figure this out
  18. thanks guys for your help, mike, no hard feelings. no spare parts. i took to heart the advice of my russian ancestors... "when in doubt, get a bigger hammer" i got it back together, and apart and everything is good. the takedown pin was snagging in the hole behind the sight. - its just a very tight tolerance.
  19. obviously I am doing something wrong. thats why I'm here asking for help. not here to be criticized for not following "procedure" I have taken this gun apart and put it back together several times before. this time though something happened and I have been unable to remedy it. I have been working at this for a few hours now (read all the posts people have shared/ i've found on google - tried all of them several times) still no dice. so thanks for your .02 but i'm looking for actual help at this point.
  20. ok i tried the above. i'm offering beer or ammo (or helpers choice) for help with this.
  21. no. trigger doesn't move. its in the "pulled" position - doesn't reset when cocking the gun
  22. the takedown lever is not moving. in or out. the little release lever pulled out and then the takedown lever popped out of the frame but now it won't go in or out
  23. after reading the manual and watching some videos on the matter I decided to try my hand at tearing down this pistol. Well I got it apart and back together but now I can't get it apart again... So... Anyone in the chattanooga area an expert on these that can help me? or suggestions on a gunsmith who can take it apart for me? I want to install a Majestic arms Speed Strip kit because the factory way of disassembly is just bonkers. (I think i'll stick to my glocks)
  24. I'll ask -- what gun are you looking to sell?
