  1. Many departments can't afford to hire more full timers. Many times it is just myself and a full time officer working in a town that should have 6 or 7 working at a time.
  2. LMAO! It would only be a fantasy if you were still there!
  3. When I was in college I had insurance through Shelby County, it was worth it. I love my reserve job. I have no intention of going full time. I am an Emergency Room RN in real life. I love both of my jobs and I am grateful for the chance to do both of them.
  4. 80 hours is the requirement. We do way more than that. Interesting info on LEOSA. Leave it to Tennessee to make it a grey area!
  5. I started eating right and working out two months ago. I've lost 30 lbs so far. I figured I needed to get healthy sooner or later!
  6. I have used dent genie in Bartlett before. I don't remember how much it was, but it was reasonable. This was in 2002 when he was just getting started so things may have changed.
  7. I love our reserve program. After you have had all of your training and been on for a while, they will let you loose just like the full time guys. If you don't work hard and they don't trust you, you will end up just riding with a full time guy. I have been on my dept for three years and I respond to calls and make traffic stops on my own.
  8. A small department might be the way to go. My department allows ride alongs as long as you sign a waiver and the Chief approves it. You have to stay in the car at all times though.
  9. I hate shooting my J frame, but I carry it off duty more than any other gun.
  10. Believe it or not, I can conceal a full sized 1911 easier than a glock 27.

    My Koi Pond.

20 x 25, $380. It is firestone EPDM pond liner.

It has worked well for me. I live in a swampy area and we have lots of skeeters.

    I'm sure it will!

    My Koi Pond.

I used the dirt to fill in low spots in the yard. It took me two days of digging from 0800 until sundown. The green thing is a thermacell to keep the blood suckers away, the blue tub had an aerator on it to keep the fish alive while I was digging.

I would rather take a beating than do that again!

West Tennessee is a big swamp! I also attract them, I can be standing in a group and be the only one that gets bit.

Thanks guys! We got the fish free on craigslist, they are pretty expensive if you buy them. The liner was almost $400. I had no idea this stuff was so expensive. Now we are keeping our fingers crossed that the fish will survive the move.
  18. I will soon. My arms are too tired to lift my camera right now!
  19. My wife decided we needed a Koi pond. I spent the last 48 hours digging. It is 15 x 20, and almost 4 feet deep. It looks pretty cool right now.
  20. It has plenty of water now. Yes, you can walk the bank. There is actually a 7 mile trail that goes around it, great place for mountain biking.
  21. Herb Parsons Lake is just a few minutes away.
  22. Congrats, I live 10 minutes East of your new place.
