  1. I should have added that the buffets are incredible! Also, for some reason distances are way farther than they appear. I found this out after walking from one end of the strip to the other. It is weird how you don't notice yourself sweating. Drink lots of water.
  2. Since we are reopening this thread, I could acquire badges from multiple departments in about 10 minutes online.
  3. We went in 2002. It was fun. I didn't gamble any, not because I am opposed to it, but I know I would tear up if I lost as little as 20 dollars. We did a lot of walking through the casinos. We stayed at the Orleans, which is just off the strip, and it was very nice. Hoover Dam is incredible. The dam was probably my favorite part of the trip. Freemont street was cool, I like the whole 50's vibe.
  4. I'm glad my mk-40 has been 100% from the beginning. I have heard that the metal Kahrs seem more reliable though.
  5. Wow, I posted in this thread 2 years ago.
  6. I have several pieces of nylon gear that are "Coyote" or "dark earth." AR-15 mag holders etc. I would like to use it at work, but our gear has to be black. Is it possible to dye nylon gear, and how would one go about doing it?
  7. Welcome, I live about a mile into Fayette County. It is a good place to live!
  8. I have never disarmed a permit holder. I appreciate when I am told before dispatch informs me. I agree that most permit holders are upstanding citizens, but some are not.
  9. How in the world can you write for 2 miles over? I have never written for less than 10 over. I write about 10 warnings for every ticket I write. I only have 4 tickets this month, and I only wrote them because they had other things besides speeding going on. I always write for financial responsibility.
  10. I am pretty flexible on the weekends.
  11. I would love to meet everyone.
  12. God bless the crew of the wing that went down outside Brownsville this morning. Such a tragedy. Myself and all of the Police Officers, EMTs, and Emergency Dept personnel that worked with them will miss them greatly.
  13. I have had both, the 642 is way easier to carry.

    Marswolf Tribute

    RIP Mars. Nice post.
  15. As in the pharmacy? The cloverleaf shopping center is on Summer Ave, not the safest place to be. There are much worse areas though.
  16. Memphis in May is held at Tom Lee PARK, carry is not allowed.
  17. I needed a small thing done to a shotgun barrel several years ago. I took it to Guns & Ammo and 4-6 months later he had not even touched it. I ended up taking it home and not messing with it.
  18. I'm about your size, and I can carry a Glock 23 in an MTAC under a t-shirt without printing.
  19. I got my permit at Top Brass 11 years ago. I don't get out that way much, but I enjoy going there. The building is a little scary, but it kinda reminds me of my house when the wife goes out of town for a week. The staff is about the nicest you will find anywhere. They have traded me even on magazines and holsters before, you won't find that many places.
  20. Wow, that reporter is scary looking. I was thinking it was a guy at first.
  21. No one is going to mess with you if it is a two or three times a year thing. All you have to say is that you were planning on taking it to the car wash or something car related. That law is to prevent the other people in Shelby County from putting them on a beater cutlass and never paying for tags again. I have antique tags on my 1960 F100. I drive it once or twice a year.
  22. You have to accept the commute. I live in Fayette County, but my wife and I both work in Memphis.
  23. In my opinion, the trigger on my kimber customII is much better than the springfield trigger. The Kimber is my most accurate pistol.
  24. I have no worries about it going off. I don't see how it could. And yes it is w/o external safety. The only gun I own that has one is a 1911.
