  1. We ran some test runs with no powder and bullets to get the primers loading well. Did about 30 or so last night to get the timing right but now it seats them perfectly. Waiting on my powder scale to get here so I can check my charge and run a few to test before reloading 1k.
  2. I had a buddy of mine come by yesterday to set it up for me and get all the timing straight. Ready to start loading and was wondering if anyone was using titegroup and 115gr JHP zero's? If so what charge disc are you using? I'm looking for a lighter load that my wife can range practice with yet is good enough to be used for SHTF as well. Any suggestions are well appreciated.

    PLUM CRAZY

I too had my doubts, that was why I purchased one, to see what it was really like and give it a good beating. As for the bushmasters that exploded, if the lower receiver exploded there was a bigger problem than the polymer lower. If the polymer upper receiver exploded, that makes more sense because the pressures and forces on it. The lower receiver sees very little force and 0 pressure.

    PLUM CRAZY

I ordered it from a place in AZ. It was $119 shipped and then I paid my FFL and TICS. Comes complete, ready to install with commercial buffer tube, tapco stock, and parts kit all installed. Slapped it on an upper in a matter of seconds. I have been trying to find a dealer within a couple hours drive because I would pick up a few more. If anyone is in the Columbia/Spring Hill area and wants to check it out let me know. You are more than welcome to bring some ammo and take it for a whirl. I promise you won't be disappointed. As a good friend of mine says the standard trigger is as nice as his RRA 2 stage with 0 creep and 0 over travel with a very clean break.

    PLUM CRAZY

I've got one, put about 1000 rounds of 223 through it and another 1500 22lr with no issues. Super light, great trigger, easy to bump fire, mates tight to my Stag and JSE surplus uppers. I plan on getting a few more when I get some extra money. There are paople running these with 7.62 and 458 uppers. I have no worries when I shoot mine.

    Sigma 380 ???

They are lifetime warranty but since they are no longer made you might get lucky and get a new BG380 out of it if it fails.
  7. I have wondered about these too. It seems you can find these fairly reasonable and often under $300. I really like the way the ATI stock looks on them too. The only reason I consider the kel tec is because of the glock mags. 30rnd 9mm mags are pretty cheap and easy to come by.

    Sigma 380 ???

Firing pin breaks and the frame has been known to crack. Good new is if it does break they will give you a new sigma or a voucher toward another S&W. There are lots of people who love them but it is not a rage gun by any means.
  9. Who sells the stevens 200 and does it have the accu trigger
  10. Looking for a good budget 308 bolt action, not looking to hit dimes at 300 yards but something decent for the range and maybe hunting later on. Any suggestions?
  11. Watched it last night. i thought it was good but the ending left me asking a lot of questions. Also what was "the event" that caused the nuclear winter? The significance of taking the thumb is that it makes it nearly impossible to grasp objects and perform fine movement tasks.
  12. if the first shot don't kill em and they start to charge, skewer the piggy!
  13. 91/30 hex receiver on an ATI stock. All I can say is I like it. [/url Can't wait to get it out and shoot it.
  14. Well here is a pic of it anyway. Either way I like it and it's gonna stay. This is my PIG SLAYER [/url No hunting for me yet but plan on giving it a try next year. Only hunting I've done is squirrel and that was 20+ years ago.
  15. For water storage I use old gallon milk jugs (water jugs in my case since I drink a gallon of distilled every day for medical reasons). I refill them and keep them in the basement and in my large chest freezer. I also keep 5 or so cases of kroger bottled water on hand about 90% of the time. Stock up when they are 2 for $5 and it is a cheap water source. Keep a couple of 5 gallon buckets on hand for gray water and use it flush your toilets. All this is assuming you are bugging in. So food, I keep a bunch of canned goods on hand as well as the typical rice and beans. Keep a couple extra containers of salt too so that your electrolytes don't get low, plus it's hard to eat bland food every day.
  16. Bought a mosin and an ATI stock, Will this still be C&R? Plan on getting another in better condition to let sit for a while. Just wanted to make a pig gun with this one.
  17. Actually you are wrong about unions and foreign car companies. Many of them in fact have unions in their plants. Everything from the UAW to Pipefitters and Electricians. You can blame the unions all you want but you are grossly exaggerated if you think the average union employee makes $40 an hour. I know MANY people who worked for various unions and don't know anyone who made anywhere near that. A better assumption would be half of what you are suggesting. Also do you work a 40 hour work week? Do you get over time for that? Do you work in a safe work environment? Do you receive benefits from your employer? Do you get paid vacation days and holidays off? If you answered yes to any of these questions you owe it to unions. If it weren't for people banding together to get these issues that are all standard to most employers now, you would have nothing. Unions are responsible for creating the middle class. Are there some things they have done wrong in recent years? Yes, but the good they have accomplished for all of us far outweighs the bad. Also for all those who have a problem with the 30 and out policy you need to know this, the average life expectancy of a retired auto worker is 3.8 years after retirement. These people do difficult work under stressful situations and do it consistently. The majority of them have some sort of health issues when they retire, everything from bad backs to shot knees. I judge no one on what they do until I have done it myself.
  18. Interesting but kinda pricey. I bought a bunch of strike anywhere matches and just put them in old film containers.
  19. Walmart may be the largest employer in America but there is nothing "American" about them. It is a proven fact that Walmart destroys communities and actually creates a -2 job impact for every one person it employs. They purposely hire part time people and do not hire people for full time to avoid having to offer benefits. Also they encourage and force companies to ship manufacturing to China in order to increase their profit margins for themselves. Back when they were supposedly a Made in America store, they were found attaching made in America tags on items and then using the ignorant approach and saying the tags were made in america. The reason we are in this turmoil is not because of one political party or the other, it is because you can not support a middle class in any country without a manufacturing base, and let's face it we don't make anything any more. People wan't to blame unions, or blame the people but the one to blame is greed. Until corporations start restructuring and bringing jobs back to America it will only get worse. The only way to fix the problem is to stop supporting companies who ship jobs over seas. Patronage your locally owned and operated businesses and buy American. People talk all day about being patriotic but then buy nothing made in America. I will gladly pay more for something I know keeps someone here working. I call it patriotic tax and pay it proudly.
  20. I've got a 597, for $125 on sale it can't be beat in it's price range.
  21. Also remember S&W has one of the best warranties in the business. There are people with 10,000+ rounds through theirs trouble free. I had about 2500 before I gave my 40v to my dad. Mark the mags and also inspect. The loaded ammo should sit flush on both sides of the mag lips and not have any gaps and be the same distance apart front and back. If they are wider on either front or back than I would send the gun in with the magazines. Chances are you will get new mags.
  22. I am not worried about a criminal suit if I need o use my firearm. Even if it is ruled justified you can still expect to be sued in civil court. How hard do you think it is going to be for a lawyer to persuade a bunch of gun ignorant people that you could have done something else, used something else, or been carrying something else. For me I am not taking any chances or giving anyone any reason to question my motives.
  23. Is it worth giving them another reason to play the vigilante card. I have spoken to my local DA, a friend of the family, and he has no issues with it. However he said he should be the least of your worries. He said in a civil case any attorney is going to try to find every reason to nail you to the wall. And because there doesn't have to be a consensus you had better expect to have it go against you and have to pay through the nose. He carries and old police .38 special with basic walmart ammo just for that reason.
  24. I'm really liking the idea of the trifecta with a .22lr, 20Ga or 12Ga, and .223 or .243.
  25. Anyone have one? What are your thoughts?
