Thank you sir!

I'm reviving this thread. I have had a similar request on a handgun. So OS, based on what you state above....it may be legal but carriers' terms of service will not allow shipments of handguns?

It's the lucid hd7, found it by chance and it gets great reviews. More info on my post under the gear section

Lucid hd7 gen II
Independent_shooter replied to Independent_shooter's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
Initial impressions of the sight are, it is solid, the auto brightness works well, the multiple recticles are all clear. I can't wait to shoot it -
I like my ak variant sig. Eats anything I throw at it, is pretty darn accurate, easy to accessorize/customize. Really can't think of anything I would change

Veterans in danger of losing their rights...

By this logic, we should declare the general populous crazy for continuing to elect these idiots! -
I'm torn now. I was set on getting the SWFA based on reviews; but before I pulled the trigger I found a VXII for $50 bucks more, I have experience with Leupold but have never handled a SWFA. I like the size/weight of the VX II (my LAR-8 is heavy enough); but like the 30mm/mildot of the SWFA. Application will be punching paper 1-300 yrds and hunting deer under 250 yards. Let the opinions roll in. Is there any other scope that I should consider? in the $3-400 price range.

Lucid hd7 gen II
Independent_shooter replied to Independent_shooter's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
Thanks babelt, that's one of the reviews I saw. I can't find any bad reviews. There have been some people that have abused this sight and it has held zero. I like that it uses AAA bateries as well. I just received notification that it shipped, so I'll come back with a review once I get to the range. -
Lucid hd7 gen II

I take the lack of response to indicate nobody is familiar with this scope? I'll be the TGO ginny pig, I have one on order....if it is anything like the reviews I've read....it's a bargain at $200 delivered from Optics Planet. I'll post a review once I receive it and take it to the range. -
That's a good thing when you miss your take out point! Not saying that I've ever done that :pleased:

I just bought two fishing yaks for my log cabin at Tim's Ford. I have a number of options out that way (Tim's Ford, Normandy, Elk River, Duck River) . I've never fished Stones River and it's in my back yard I've caught many trout on the caney with ultra light set-ups and corn....just right down from the damn. Have to make sure they're not generating :squint:

Lucid hd7 gen II

I can't find a bad review on this red dot. I think I will take the plunge and buy it. 5.0 out of 5 stars Why you should buy I am digging it, the HD7 is well thought out, it is guaranteed water 'proof' fog 'proof'. There is nothing flimsy about it that would tip you off to it being made in ChiCom. This is not pure Chinese junk, no, it is American design, American owned and American final inspected unit, only made in ChiCom to compete so it can get to market, as AimPoint and ACOG dominate the high price point US market, Lucid does not stand a chance on that end. Lucid is a small shop, 1 guy and his wife , he is an American, I think living in Utah (if i remember ) He was a design engineer for Brunton Outdoors, he wanted to make a 'high quality' red dot at a good price point and he succeeded. MAC on YouTube has water and drop tested his and it passed. At 30 m sand bagged we are getting bullet hole thru hole accuracy, at 200m I can hit 12" gong every time. NOTE: They make a screw on 2X magnifier and now a 1x5 magnifier and I am getting both myself. The many different reticules are a great idea. I use the single 'dot' most of the time, but the 'circle-dot' fits right over a typical bulls eye target and can be used to 'bracket' a target as a sort of ruff indication of target distance. Just for reference sake, you can have a man walk out to 100, 200 + meters , or place a deer target out at your chosen distance to see just how your chosen reticule with size up against the target in the distance to get a good idea of how a target will look via the reticule. If your 'not' familiar with red dots, they need to be 'turned on' duh, lol. If this is your primary defense weapon, I suggest you co-witness tritium post - iron battle sights thru the HD7 so if you get awoken up on the middle of the night by crystal meth zombies smashing thru your door, your heart is gonna be racing along with your head, and your more than likely going to forget a few things and 1 main thing is to turn the dam thing on !!! In my case at least I am going to be looking thru a nice set of iron sights that glow in the dark in the bottom 3rd of the HD7 ( 1 /3rd co-witness ) as I have Troy Industries folding H&K style sights on my AR. When my iron sights are flipped up and locked in the ready to use position the red dot sits right on top of the front iron sigh post just like a target should be aimed at, as it should, so now I have immediate redundant back up sights. I took some black tape and made the objective ( the side you look thru )side wider to snug fit a Bulter Creek flip up dust cover on it as I walk in the rain when run & gun shooting & hunting with my AR in single point battle sling / muzzle down position so rain drop were getting on my HD7 lens. Your gonna love this sight. Final suggestion: Wait until they make it with an integral quick release mount so You can switch optics fast if You wish to do so. UPDATE: Nov 23: Another approx 500 rounds of 7.62x39 caliber thru my HD7 and it still ROCKS , I love it. PS do NOT buy the 2X Magnifier, why because it is like looking through a soda straw, the field of view disappears even tho it is good quality it still SUCKS as a defensive optic add on, if You want to shoot varmints with it at medium range which for my caliber is 75 to 150 yards then go ahead and buy it but it only seams good for bench rest shooting stationary targets ( squirrels etc....) if they are on the run at close range then forget it as they will run out of the field of view instantly and you wont be able to acquire them fast enough, but at a moderate distance the 2X MAGNIFIER is ' fair' to 'ok ' 5.0 out of 5 stars [url="http://www.amazon.com/review/R1D2HLPRAOE4UK/ref=cm_cr_dp_title?ie=UTF8&ASIN=B004BDLJX4&nodeID=3375251&store=sporting-goods"][b]WOW what a surprise!! August 8, 2011 I bought a custom-built AR-15 that had this sight pre-installed. I'm a big EoTech enthusiast, but I figured I would give this one a trial. I'm converted - this is as good a sight with simple controls and solid staying power. And the cost alone is enough to make me order another one for my AR-10. The sight has retained zero perfectly and has been flawless -

I hate it for those people. -
http://mylucidgear.com/reddotsights.php Does anyone have any experience with these? The limited reviews I have found online give outstanding reviews. They can be had on optics planet for around $215; which is about half Eotech, aimpoint etc. looking for an optic for my 556r
-
That's pretty cool
-
Interested in your review with the red dot, I am denting which route to go for an optic. I need one for the sig and RRA lar-8. I'm considering a red dot (xps, aimpoint micro, etc) for the sig and something with magnification for the lar-8. The big reservation I have is the RRA is already pretty heavy
-
Sorry the sig 556r. There is a review of the rifle by another member under this same section of the forum

My dream 10/22 (target version) just about complete.
Independent_shooter replied to timthetoolman's topic in Long Guns
Nice looking rifle. I've been considering a 22 for a while now, in large part because of the cost of ammo. So many wants, it's hard convincing the wife they're all necessities ;) -
If you haven't already bought a lower, I would look at the new gen 556r. By the time you factor in the availability and cost of the other ammo calibers listed above (aside from 223/556)....not long before you save some serious coin by sticking with the 7.62x39 That's a main reason I bought the sig..li wanted to have a semi auto in 30 cal. I now have the lar-8 as well...but that's a different story

Nice review, thanks for the wedge recommendation...I thought that the rubber wedge was the only option. I just ordered one. How does the furniture fit (handguard)? Mine has a little play. I like mine, I put the sig diopter sights on, a ddles adapter, buffer, and magpul STR stock. It looks like you have something near the ejection site, is that for the brass kisses?
