1. The devil is in the details. What constitutes a mental health problem? Who makes that determination? The libtards would probably classify all of the gun owners as mental cases.
2. http://news.yahoo.com/blogs/ticket/obama-hold-press-conference-11-15-m-141554262--politics.html   Just checked; mine's clear
3. Obama blamed "a fear that's been fanned" by opponents of gun control. “We’ve seen—for some time now—that those who oppose any common-sense gun-control or gun-safety measures have a pretty effective way of ginning up fear on the part of gun owners that somehow the federal government’s about to take all your guns away," he said. "There’s probably an economic element to that—it obviously is good for business." He added that "responsible gun owners—people who have a gun for protection, for hunting, for sportsmanship—they don’t have anything to worry about."   Sheww, I was getting worried.  I guess I can sleep better tonight, thanks BO
4. Funny, I keep telling my wife that....for some reason she doesn't respond well.
5. I'm in the same boat, and would like the LAR-8 in order to utilize my FAL mags.  I don't mind paying a 10-15% premium in the present market, just not the 100-150% premium on most GB items.
6. Why didn't he ask all taxpayers to stop paying taxes while they debated the budget?  He could have just asked all of us responsible gun owners to not purchase firearms while they debated the issue, surely everyone would comply :puke: , removing tongue from cheek
7. +1   A kin to staying home vs. getting out and voting.  If you're not living your principles, you're part of the problem.
8.
I 2nd that what you said
+1
9.
The other method is placing a #41 o ring around your upper pivit lug.  This keeps from having any rubber in your rifles working space.
Thanks you sir, I'll try that
10. Yep, that thread about sums it up....still is annoying though :)
11. Nice buck!
12. Started to get off topic on another thread so I thought I would bring the question over here. I have a lot of play in my upper and lower and in the front handguard. I have a Sig556r (7.62x39 variant). Have used some gorilla tape on the handguard where it meets the gas block, and an accu wedge. But it drives me nuts to have to rig it this way, not too mention, I don't really care to have a piece of rubber floating around in my lower. Anyone have any suggestions, is this something a smith could fix. Thanks!
13. That was the only option I found. Is there some other way to remove the play? I dont really like a piece of rubber in my lower. The rifle eats everything and is pretty darn accurate, but the play is annoying (shouldn't be there in a rifle costing $1200+ IMHO). I don't want to get too far off topic with this, but I'd like to know if someone else has any other ideas.
14. How does the furniture and upper/lower fit together on the 716? I have the Sig 556r (7.62x39 variant) and she runs like a scalded dog, accurate too. My only knock is there is a lot of play between the upper and lower (I have an accu wedge that takes out most of it). And the handguard fit leaves a lot to be desired, have tape where it meets the gas block.
15. Deer are plentiful on our lease, great mix of woods, water, and fields. We were lucky this year, the owner decided to plant beans. I tagged three (2 bucks and a doe), four of us took a total of 11. No wall hangers, but mature bucks and good does (can't eat the antler anyway ;). I can recommend Pott's in wartrace, reasonable processing. They make great snack sticks and good summer sausage....blessed with a full freezer!
16. New article just came out regarding the potential of a black rifle ban.  Of note, apparently in Biden's speach regarding the recommendation he is making to the president on Tuesday, he ommitted any mention of a black rifle ban.  He mentioned high capacity mags and stricter background checks.    The author of this article states "Another change since the 90s-era ban is that many semi-automatic weapons are more popular now, including the Bushmaster AR-15 rifle used in the Newtown shooting, which is one of the best selling rifles in America. There are at least 3 million AR-15-type rifles in America today, and semi-automatic handguns have overtaken revolvers as the most popular handguns."   I thought that the AR-15 was in the trunk and wasn't used in the actual shooting?   http://news.yahoo.com/blogs/lookout/gun-control-debate-assault-weapons-ban-reach-094810128.html
17. Welcome from the boro
18. I love this quote "It is unknown if the intruder possessed any weapons or if he further threatened the family in any way". Really?? An intruder breaks in a home and the mother is home alone with kids, and she questioned if he posed a threat? Where do they breed these idiots?
19. I will have to let my wife read this. Been trying for years to get her trained. Watching the news now and the local Catholic Churches are asking parishioners to sign petitions to ban black rifles and high cap magazines.
20. The media is a joke nowadays anyhow, you can almost write anything without any substantiation or underlying facts.  The incorrect reporting is just as prevelant.  Much more importance is placed on "getting the story out quick" than correct.
21. Everyday there is a new headline.  This article does mention a former officer intervening with her weapon at a church shooting in CO.    With all do respect and sympathy for State Rep. Fields, does she really think that any of the restrictions being discussed would have prevented a murderer from killing her son?  I know I don't need to say this to this crowd, but a gun is a tool.  If someone is intent on killing someone, they can carry it our with or without a firearm.   http://news.yahoo.com/massacre-hardened-colorado-gun-control-test-case-084954441.html
