  1. 18 years old, left kmart with a friend after buying some Co2 cartridges for my 2 pistol bb guns that we were going to shoot. buddy was loading the cartridges in the passenger seat when a big truck pulled up next to us, guys eyes got really big and he laid back and got behind us. told my buddy he should put the pistols in the floor board. get half way through town and guy is still following us, pass a cop and he flips a uturn in the middle of a busy street, great.... get to an intersection and there is a cop sitting at each corner, drive through the intersection and all of them come screaming out, blue lights on. i pull over, blue lights everywhere, felony stop, ended up being 6 cops. "Hands out the window!" my lock was broken on the driver side and it was an automatic locking door so with a gun in my face the officer is yelling at me to get out, "i can't, it's locked" he fumbles with the lock and can't get it open, i slowly reach down to unlock it and he rips the door open and throws me on the hood, same with my buddy. i then hear "GUN GUN!!" immediately the cops get rougher. i tell them they are bb guns, over zealous guy that screamed gun doesn't believe me. all in all, my buddy spent 20 min in the back of one patrol car being questioned and me up against my car with the same interrogation. no charges, told to keep them in the trunk. said an old lady called in saying we were driving around waving the guns in the air!
  2. Haha! same thing my dad said. shoots great, like the action better than the 590 but liked the 590 safety placement better. action was more important. 18.5 inch barrel. it's heavier than most, but i'm a big boy and can take it i live on an acre and a half with woods all around, lots of situations went through my head when deciding on the sling with that many shells. coyotes, chasing bad guys through the woods, bears, panthers, lions, aliens... never know, JIC
  3. Finally got enough side work to support my HD shotgun. Tac Star Light system (a little industrial silicone to hold the pressure pad) Tru Glo Day site swivel studs w/sling holds 25 shells (actually got 2 for 1 at sportsmansguide.com) 5 shell stock sleeve (had to cut this down and resew to get a good fit, didn't have a hole for the swivel stud. Pulled the butt pad and tucked the end in, really happy with the fit, thought it might move to much) I also stippled the forearm and the pad on the stock. did rough up front and smoother on the stock. much better feel. i want to get walnut stocks... maybe later, we'll see All in all I spent $510 not including ammo. Carrying 32 shells of 00 and 5 slugs. Very happy!
  4. +1 great program, free. you don't need to worry about spyware programs... don't download everything that comes your way and you have nothing to worry about. firewalls have nothing to do with downloading viruses. keep windows up to date with automatic security updates and your PC will run smoothly for a long time.
  5. +1000 i heard much worse in high school from my coaches. he at least had control of his temper, if he didn't use all the language that would have been a rather heartfelt call to his team to put up or shut up. I wouldn't have played for the guy just for the fact that he seems to think God a joke. He's right, they pay the bills. These kids act like they have a right to play ball for these schools. They are being PAID to play (scholarships) if they don't like the coach or the school, go else where.
  6. xd .40 sub is a great choice. trust it with my life everyday, easily carried, easily concealed. great gun to shoot!
  7. six flags ga has metal detectors. i wouldn't think much of them. i set it off last weekend and was just waved on through. i wasn't carrying, but figured i very easily could have been. i looked but didn't see any signs anywhere. i would just make sure to have a holster with a thumb break as to not lose your piece on a ride!
  8. I am really starting to like him. plenty of links on you tube to his other videos. i was looking for his statements from wed at the agriculture FDA hearing, but can't find it, probably not up yet.
  9. I'm far beyond fed up with crappy service. I am getting married june 27th. my dad purchased new carpet for my house as a wedding gift to me and my wife to be. (i tore up the old carpet and have been living on sub floors for two years, seems women don't think that is livable ) anyway, we go to lowes, great service there, the guy was actually knowledgeable. My mom ran a carpet company for 8 years while i was growing up, so i know a thing or two about it.. i have the ENTIRE house moved into my kitchen, ALL the floors cleaned and carpet tack down, all they have to do is come in lay the pad and carpet 1000sq ft. no problem right?? well i have to work so my dad takes off and comes to sign the paper work so im not there when they're done. come home, freakin idiots laid all the rooms (3) first then the living room, THEN the hall. well they laid all the rooms one way and the living room opposite so now i have 2 very obvious seams in the hall, one right in front of my door. Looks terrible. i just wanted to scream, dad tells me the guy kept messing with the seam before he left.. he obviously knew he screwed up. never freaking says anything. Now i have to call Lowes and bitch, then they will call him back out here, then what? i have to feaking move all my furniture back to the kitchen so they can tear up the living room and hallway. JUST DO IT RIGHT THE FIRST FREAKIN TIME!
  10. Stiff him! you were there at shift change, so it was either his first table or more likely his last table. he didn't care either way. it makes me mad when people don't do their job, makes me more mad when it's a simple job, makes me MORE mad when it's a job I have done or do!
  11. I stand corrected didn't say it HAD to be outside people both are "agents" under respondeat superior
  12. as a bartender i really wouldn't consider myself responsible for protecting persons or property. i read that to mean the owner either has an employee or has hired an outside company to go armed in order to provide protection to persons or property
  13. While bartending i was in a restaurant that served alcohol, pretty sure that is the reason one would not be able to carry. I don't think the law stipulates why you are in a restaurant that serves, just that you can't carry while there. i don't think this has anything to do with having an ABC permit, it does however fall under your HCP. of course if this law is passed, then i would assume that it would be up to the employer.
  14. just read this entire thread again. pretty disappointed in it. If the thread applies to you then learn from it. if it doesn't move on. In no way was the OP saying EVERYONE reading this post is an idiot and has no clue how to carry their gun. He was venting and making general comments about what he sees in his day to day on the job. THERE ARE a$$hats that act EXACTLY like he described. If you found this to be preachy, then you are the choir and should know who he is talking about, which EVERY person in this thread that responded does. Just to add fuel to the fire, IF this post was made by a 65 year old who just witnessed some fool acting this way in a restaurant he owned, NOT a single person in here would have been defensive. So take the info for what it is, information, if you didn't learn anything from it then click the next post. Now that is preaching
  15. great post! good insight. i bartended and served for 4 years through college as well. another little tip is, don't use your HCP as an ID just to show that you have one. Use your license, then if anyone is uncomfortable with it you won't be putting it in their face. I used to get guys showing me there HCP and look at me to see my reaction. Don't need to be carrying if it's to look "cool."
  16. Anyone have any recommendations on a brand they have used or prefer? i've seen a few, i watched a "blue wonder" video and it looks easy enough, which is why i'm a little hesitant... just want a cheap one i can do myself, don't want to duracoat or anything that involved, just a blue for under $15. I saw a "black" kit at sportsmans warehouse, can't remember the brand name though. anyway, just was curious
  17. The customer i was with when it happened was freaking out. she was texting when it happened and was very worried about losing service it annoyed me, just for the fact that i pay for service and expect it, stupid me

  22. all the statements about the criminals bringing handguns into bars with ill intent are correct. they are CRIMINALS the law is not in affect so how can he use that as a precedent? that's some goofy thinking if you as me.
