I'll be in Nashville for the summer so I'll have to look into the Gallatin club. but I've looked at the Oak Ridge club and I'll probably stop by this fall or late summer. thanks for the responses.

I'm thinking about giving it a try this summer. When you join IDPA do you also have to be a member at the club that you shoot at or can you shoot at any club as long as you have your membership info?

this thread is now like the episode of Scrubs where a women and a black doctor argue about which is harder to be successful as. both sides will argue til blue in the face and will never agree, and at the end of the day nobody cares except for the two groups involved. this thread is way past what it started as and should be continued in PMs or dropped completely.

OpenCarry.org: "Is it legal to resist a civil rights violation?"
bteague2 replied to molonlabetn's topic in General Chat
I'm pretty sure that like most of you if a cop just knocks on my door and when I answer it tells me to give him my gun(s). If he doesn't have a search warrant I'm closing the door on him and calling the cops. If he tries to enter he's getting shot or shot at. Nobody in this thread is advocating resisting a lawful arrest or holding, but it is a hypothetical question of how far would you be willing to go when you are 110% sure you are in the right and 110% sure the LEO is abusing their power. And we should all remember that talking and doing are not related at all. -
OpenCarry.org: "Is it legal to resist a civil rights violation?"

I'll happily show my permit but I am not surrendering my loaded gun for no reason. If something happened to it while you had given it to them you would still be held accountable for it. But if they arrest me or detain me or have a valid reason then sure, but I'm getting it back. -

So I'm listening to 107.7 WIVK in Knoxville and they do Voices from the Front every couple of days. so today they have an Army LTC in the Anbar provence and a Marine First Sgt. So they open the phone lines to people to ask them questions and this women calls up and says "i missed american idol last night and i was wondering if you knew who won." so the DJ thought he was talking about the troops tv and internet access so he asks the LTC and 1st sgt who good their internet access is. The women goes "well it's pretty good, but i'm just outside the city and it goes out sometimes." the DJ cuts her off and moves on to a question and hangs up. what the hell? people are retarded. These guys are in a ****ty place doing a job that most people wouldn't consider doing, and often doing it without complaining or anything like that, and she calls to ask about american idol i guess that's all

Polo shirts would be cool, and I'd love to see hats.

either way two great movies trumped calculus easily

It's not the greatest problem but it's right up there. Since they are changing all the founding documents our fore fathers set out anyway... freedom of religion really meant freedom from it. silly typos.

So FX is on the ball today. They just played The Punisher and now Man on Fire is coming on. Two great movies back to back. If that isn't a sign from god that calculus homework can be done after dinner I don't know what is

So I got pulled over in Franklin...
bteague2 replied to bteague2's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
That's what you get for being from Texas, and the fact that we have to wait at all is reason enough to complain. -
That'd be nice to have a pair of prescription glasses but at that price for something I'd break or lose. I think I'd rather save up for corrective surgery.

I go through the whole process of getting my ticket and trying not to make the officer nervous or anything before he gets to my truck or while he's at his cruiser filling out the ticket. So after he hands me my ticket he asks if I have any questions about my ticket. I look at him and say 'no sir, but I do have a question.' he says ok. And I ask him.... 'when you ran my plates did it show up as me having a handgun carry permit?' he looks at me kinda funny and says 'no, that shows up when I run your drivers license.' So I said 'ok, did it show up?' and he says 'honestly I didn't notice, sometimes I notice but just now it didn't jump out at me. why?' And I replied 'I applied for my permit about a month ago and I was just curious if it had gone through yet.' I thanked him and shook his hand, he walked back to his cruiser and I drove away still waiting for my permit.

Are there any features that you'd like to see?
bteague2 replied to TGO David's topic in Feedback and Support
maybe a section of the site for traveling with firearms. like what states honor the TN HCP or states that offer out of state permits. and specicif laws some states have about gun kept in a car while traveling threw them. not really a forum but maybe an imagemap or something and you click on the state in question and it tells you that states info -
That sounds like a great idea Len, I'd be interested in helping with that anyway possible.

Discussion of Carry Permit Info as Open Records
bteague2 replied to a topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
People that don't have permits should be mad that the paper published that and let people know they were unarmed. That being said, I think it should be public knowledge but you should have to fill out a form in a city/county building somewhere to see if a person has one or not, like everything else mentioned. Keep a record of who accesses what so there is a paper trail if something does happen, not on the internet where litteraly anyone can see it. -
Henry lever action .22 it's a blast, I wouldn't trade it for anything.

I'm glad it's down but a little dissapointed I didn't get to look for my own name to see if my permit had arrived at home in Nashville yet
