Interesting... Metro is one of the places I had heard of them consistantly disarming folks, unloading the weapon and the advising the HCP holder not to touch or reload the weapon until the officer left the scene.

Also it appears SC has preemption like TN to prevent local ordnances restricting carry. SC does honor TN permits.

I agree, I just meant that in general pregnancy doesn't equal sexual abuse. They had no way of knowing that the mother's let it happen. But if they did in some cases it couldn't have been every case where a child was taken. I'm sure some kids did need to be taken...it's just the blanket thing of taking them all...and then each family having to show they did nothing wrong, instead of the government having to show they did. This is emotional...and overall I think we have similar feeling about what is right and wrong, just maybe not on the finer details of this case.

Yep, if it is within reasonably driving distance and you have the time...it seems it would be much better to renew in person than by mail until this backlog is cleared.

You do have to show proof of Citizenship or legal residency (as of 07/01/05) to apply for a first time HCP. As of now, some have been told that you do not for a renewal, but that is probably coming.

First let me say I don't condone any type of abuse, pedophilia or the like. Ok, first thing you say is underage girls pregnant, my daughter was 17 when she got pregnant. Should the state have taken her away from me? My ex wife was 16 when we got married. Should she and the above mentioned daughter, who was born when the ex was 17, been taken away from me? Yes it was a compound and there were "dozens" of this incidents, but was it truly a tremendously larger percentage than in the rest of the country? Since when does pregnancy and marriage equal sexual abuse? So take all the kids first, then investigate, and then reunite those that did nothing wrong...Hmmmm sounds like guilt by association and guilty until proved innocent. You don't appear to think the women were abusing their children, so with all the men out of the compound, Why was it necessary to take the kids from their mother's? I'm not saying that nothing illegal happened within those walls, and any crimes should be punished. But do you think it would have all been ok if this was done on a city scale inside a city that has a high teen pregnancy/marriage rate? Just take every child in the whole town, then investigate and reunite those that did nothing wrong. Or what even in just a government housing complex? Does simply having a wall around your property make it ok?

Yes, they had a duty to investigate. But IMO they needed a WHOLE LOT more proof of wrong doing to each child before they removed 400 of them from their parents.

Everyone is right....unloaded etc...in the car is only if you don't have have a permit. You must have a permit to OC or CC in TN. Anyone with a valid permit from any state can OC or CC in TN as well.

Out of curiosty...for those that can't see the gender icons.....Is it just those or can you not the HCP permit, military or law enforcement icons either?

There has a been a guy set up at the local minor leauge baseball games I've been going to, selling kettle corn. Very good indeed. This does appear to be a suitable home subsititue to try. +1 on the West Bend Stir Crazy for normal popping. I wanted the 8qt, but there was such a back order after two months and back ordered again, I just went with the 6qt.
