  1. AFAIK there is no state law that prohibits the discharge, in general, of a firearm from any location. That is why if you live outside the city limits you can go out in your backyard and shoot. But also I believe cities can enact ordnances about the discharge of firearms. The city I live in has an ordnance against the discharge of firearm in the city limits. However I don't think they would charge you if your fired one in defense of yourself.
  2. Nope...can't say that I have. This may have been what waynesan was talking about. http://www.tbotech.com/dog-repellent-pepper-spray.htm
  3. I don't always agree with everything they've said...but they are 100% dead on with this one!!!
  4. Here is the code for killing an animal in self-defense, interpriation is up to you. I would note though that in a recent case where a subject was in a neighbor's yard to retrive his dog and was then attacked by his neigbor's dog and shot and killed one of them...the judge dropped all charges against him. Also when I was reading gas meters we used wasp/hornet spray...it was fairly effective. 39-14-205 Intentional killing of animal. a) (1) A person who intentionally or knowingly unlawfully kills the animal of another, with the intent to deprive the owner of the right to the animal's life and without the owner's effective consent commits theft of that animal and shall be punished under § 39-14-105. (2) In determining the value of a police dog, fire dog, search and rescue dog, service animal or police horse under § 39-14-105, the court shall consider the value of the police dog, fire dog, search and rescue dog, service animal or police horse as both the cost of the animal and any specialized training the animal received. ( A person is justified in killing the animal of another if the person acted under a reasonable belief that the animal was creating an imminent danger of death or serious bodily injury to that person or another or an imminent danger of death to an animal owned by that person. A person is not justified in killing the animal of another if at the time of the killing the person is trespassing upon the property of the owner of the animal. The justification for killing the animal of another authorized by this subsection ( shall not apply to a person who, while engaging in or attempting to escape from criminal conduct, kills a police dog that is acting in its official capacity. In that case the provisions of subsection (a) shall apply to the person.
  5. Oh my Yes.....I so forgot. Please forgive me..... "Nanny laws" are the only way to go...... LOL.......
  6. That's pretty much my point in a nutshell. It's not so much that I want 18-20 year olds armed...as much as you are either a "legal" adult at 18 or 21...someone needs to make up their mind. Cigarettes are so bad for you they can't be advertised on TV and have many other strong restrictions, unlike alcohol advertising, but you can buy cigs and smoke at 18, but not drink till 21. As long as I'm up on my soap box.....again it's not much that I want 18-20 year olds doing it, but I don't like drinking age being 21 in that it is because of the federal government holding funds over the states heads that made them all raise the drinking age to 21...what about state's right?! Ok....sorry....for the little rant.
  7. Greg....I was (still am to some degree) like you in that I didn't want guns to be that hidden, mysterious device to my kids. Never hid mine, still don't in the sense they know I carry, would unload it in front of them and let them handle it if the wanted. Well.....one night there was an incident, by my oldest, luckily I still have as many kids as I started with that night.......let's just say from that point forward there has been NO loaded, unlocked, out of my possession firearms in the house since. I guess what I'm saying is just because you've done your best to educate them and make the familiar with guns, doesn't mean they won't still do something they aren't supposed to when no one is around.
  8. See ya there...I'll be the guy sort of looking around like he's lost since this is the first one I will make it to....lol

  13. Closed schools here at 6:00am this morning here. Didn't even start raining till 3:00pm, just started with the sleet/snow until about 15 minutes ago (5:00pm) When I was in school...seems like they waited till there was already about an inch on the ground before they started closing school. Chance of Thunderstorms by Thursday next week....
  14. IMO the law sees a school as a school 24/7
