  1.   I'm going with AT&T Uverse. Better bundles, charges and optics.   Already called Comcast but they were closed. Gonna call in the AM.
  2. I've been looking for an excuse to convert to AT&T. Just found it.   I'll be calling them in the morning.
  3. This is awesome. We need more of this.   http://www.theblaze.com/stories/2013/02/15/group-of-second-amendment-supporting-gun-makers-now-refusing-to-sell-arms-to-law-enforcement-in-new-york-and-other-gun-restricting-states/
  4. I don't have anymore guns. Sold'em all via the gun show loophole!   But .... if the Obummer regs. come to fruition, I think I'll start a "Meet Up Group" so we can loo... , uh, talk about our "former" gun collection!   HGP only! ;)

  6.   Me three!   Never, ever ..... period!
  7. I've done my part.   Wrote Senators Alexander and Corker this morning. Then Congressmen Cooper and Blackburn.   How about you?   Here's some interesting insight on the gun control debate, both sides, and the true meaning of the 2nd Amendment.   http://www.redstate.com/2012/12/26/gun-control-gun-rights-gun-politics-and-newtown-part-i-of-ii/
  8. I have an Outback II for my Walter P22 and Ruger 10/22. It's a barrel of fun. Lots of fun and worth the $550 price of the ticket.
  9. OK David ... I'm coming to the Gun Show this weekend, Sunday. Hope to see you there. Sell me something.
  10. If you would like to trade out some bullets or powder, let me know. I would love to try Varget and any other bullets, around 168gr, other than what's listed above. I'm currently using IMR 4064, 43gr seem most consistent. -----
  11. As I attempt to design the right recipe for my .308, I have accumulated several brands of high quality bullets. They are all brand new. The question: Does anyone ever swap out bullets for testing loads? I have Berger VDL168gr. Hornady Amax (Molly) 168gr. Hornady SST 150gr. Nosler Interbond 150gr. Sierra Matchking 168gr. I'd like to try others but am not interested in amassing another $200 in bullets that may potentially only sit on the shelf. Thoughts? Thanks in advanced. Oh Yeah, at this time I am working on MOA not necessarily hunting rounds. I'll do the hunting round with the Winchester Model 70 later. I'm currently focused on my Savage Model 10.
  12. It does. But factory ammo is round nose. Hollow Back Flat Points are not. Dimensions dictate a consderably shorter bullet otherwise it's jam-o-matic.
  13. Kahr PM 9 in DeSantis pocket holster. 124 gr Gold Dot HP. One 8 round mag in the other pocket.
  14. I found the process above was necessary for my CZ 75 Shadow and Berry HBFP bullets. The CZ chamber and bullet ogive are very short, created cartidges that were considerably too long. This is a much different profile than a SIG chambered with a RN bullet.
  15. Kevin, I copied this from the forum link below. This is not necessarily powder related (although there are strings on powders) but more related to OAL. I read several comments on OAL in this string. Bottom line in the article. Find the exact OAL using any specfic bullet for your specific gun. All chamber lengths and ogives are NOT created equal. All you need are calipers. P.S. The author of this article also has excellent information on powders. Caution about A#2, #5 when using Lee pressing. Boatload of leaking. The Link: http://www.czfirearms.us/index.php?topic=34225.msg189131#msg189131 To this text: Well, books and help line people can certainly be valuable, but there's no substitute for knowing exactly how your bullet interacts with your barrel. As I said, the XTP is special and your CZ chamber is also special. So let's not guess, let's find out EXACTLY. Sound good? There are several ways to do this, but here's my method.... Fit a new bullet into a fired case. (No powder; fired primer.) If you try 2 or 3 bullet/case combinations you'll end up with 1 or 2 where the bullet is a snug "push fit". Set the bullet out to an OAL of like 1.300". Any OAL longer than what you need. Working with your barrel REMOVED from the gun, slide this "test cartridge" into the chamber. At some point it will stop going into the chamber. In other words, whatever the bullet is striking is keeping the test cartridge from going all the way in. At this point, if you continue to push, the bullet will slide back into the case until the mouth of the case comes to rest on the end of the chamber. So whatever the bullet was striking has pushed the bullet back into the case. Follow? Now, slowly and carefully withdraw the test cartridge and measure its new length. Do this with other bullets and other cases until you start to see the same number again and again. That measurement is your exact chamber length for that bullet in that barrel. Now of course we need a set-back distance off the rifling, so subtract at least .015" from that number to obtain your maximum OAL. So let's assume your test cartridge keeps giving you a number like 1.177". We subtract our setback and get 1.177" - .015" to equal 1.160". You see I've backed off an additional .002" because 1) it's simply easier to read on a caliper, 2) the chances of finding a load for 1.162" is impossible, whereas 1.160 is probably pretty good, and 3) we're talking less than a human hair, so gee whiz give it a break! With an OAL like 1.160" you can use any load for 200gr jacketed that is equal to or shorter than. So the load for the 1.155" from Hodgdon will work nicely. Can you follow all that? I hope so. Now you are armed with EXACT knowledge of your firearm and don't have to guess any longer. Ask questions. We're here to help. Hope this gets you on your way.

    1K and my AR

Just got on the forum. You guys have been busy the last couple of days. Don't think I can contribute much. It was very interesting day. Lot's of very cool guns and caliburs ... and people! This was a first time for me (as a spotter and observer) at that range. There were many very good shooter with nice equipment but I was really most impressed with "the little AR that could." I kinda thought the little fella might peter out at 500 - 600 yd, but damn, it just kept on going. Like the "Energizer Bunny." Ok, I'm sounding like a commercial. See ya.
  17. Robert, what kind of rifle do you have? I'm sure there are some serious weapons out there and at sometime in the near future I will invest in sometime more appropraite than my Winchester 70 .308. I would ultimately like to do this.
  18. I'm looking for the most accurate hunting load. Currently, I have Nosler Accu-Bond and Hornady SST in 150gr. Beside testing various charges, has anyone played much with the OAL? I read at interesting article on "Jamming and Jumping" the bullet seating in the chamber. i.e. from the bullet point of contact, at the lands, slightly seat the bullet (0.010") further into the chamber, aka "jamming." Back away from the lands in three similar increments, aka "jumping." Test groups. One note, with the shortening (jumping) of the cartridge, the increased pressure will have to be monitored and appropriate powder charging adjusted.
  19. Hey folks. As the title inquires, anyone have a favorite recipe for .308? I'm going to be researching all the finite details over the next month. Down to concentric measuring, manual charging, etc. What's your favorite? Powders, OAL, primers, etc.
  20. Well, if I must .... Adam Sandler - it would be the first funny event associated with him. Tom Cruise Tom Shane
  21. Great information everyone. I do not plan on mass production on the .308. Just want to setup quality tools that will not cause development of Carpel Tunnel or blisters (and not create any dread for working on the project). I'll probably use my Lee Turret for the .308. I will be cranking out 5.56 also, it much larger numbers. Planning on using the Dillion 650. Primary focus now is quality .308.
  22. I've been loading pistol ammo and now migrating into rifle. With all the various manfacturers and gadgets for rifle case prep ... any recommendations? What I am searching for is the efficient setup for case sizing and trimming, deburring, chamfering the case mouth, tools for checking uniformity, etc. So, basically the setup up to the point of charging the case. What toys are best served for quality reloads? The objective is to produce ultra consistent .308 ammo. I already have the brass and bullets I want. Looking for the tools. Thanks in advanced.
