  1. Yeah I'm sure I'll learn alot along the way too. I'm mainly playing around with the brass now and getting it all prepped and ready to load. I may try to load and shoot a few tomorrow.
  2. I guess I could start with bunny fart loads in my .38........ :pleased:
  3. Man I can't wait to see this.
  4. Yeah I'm thinking the pad will be fine for lower volume stuff but i'd rather have something a little faster. Some kind of spray. The imperial stuff would work too though because I still have to touch each case individually.   So is pulling the trigger on that first ever reload equivalent to your first Wally Walk?  :pleased:
  5. Is the RCBS lube extremely hard to squeeze out of the little bottle? I am contemplating cutting the tip off of the bottle I have as I can barely squeeze it out. I mainly have the lee lube that came with the press on the pad and it's more of a paste.
  6. I carry a G17 mag for my reload but would rather have the G19 for my main mag. In reality though I'll probably just use the magpul mags for training and plinking so really don't need to have the G19 mags.
  7. I was planning on going tonight but a surprise in-law visit has cancelled my plans. Maybe tomorrow night or next week.
  8. I think I either didn't have enough lube on the pad or case or maybe I just made a mistake running it back in without lube......man that sounds dirty.
  9. Haha it's not as bad as it sounds but last night I FINALLY received all of my reloading equipment. I was using an RCBS lube pad to roll my .223 brass before re sizing and depriming. I had one particular piece of brass that seemed to be a little tough going in. In hindsight I believe it was the crimped primer being a little stubborn coming out. My curiosity got me though and I just ran it back up in the die a few times and of course it got stuck. Maybe I scraped whatever lube was on it off the first time??   Lee makes it easy though. I just took the top decapper holder off and tapped it out. I found out that the rolling pad is very inefficient so I may have to look into some one shot and a plastic bag or something more efficient.   I also forgot to lube the inside of the case neck so that may have attributed to it being a little rough. I didn't mess with actually loading as I have more reading to do. Safety first!
  10. Man I'm glad I waited to buy mags in bulk. I have been contemplating buying about 15-20 Pmags and Glock mags. I'm sure other calibers will come if they sell well. And you know they will.
  11. Yeah that's the difficult thing; to not automatically think it as a death sentence. The numbers you read online will scare the crap out of you but prayer is a powerful thing. Whether it's healed or not I do know it's for a reason.
  12. I do not believe he has but I will definitely find out. Thanks for the suggestion.
  13. Oh yeah. I'm definitely going soon. Probably next weekend. Having the conversation won't be hard to do given the circumstances now. It's one of those things where I think "I've got plenty of time" to do so I never have.
  14. Just the other night I said I didn't have a need for a full auto. I may have changed my mind after this video. Well more of a want than a use......
  15. My daddy went into the hospital on Monday having trouble breathing, swallowing, etc. and after tests they found some spots on his lungs and a tumor on his esophagus. The results he received yesterday indicated that the spots on his lungs were cancerous. We haven't received results on the tumor yet but my guess is that it will be cancerous as well based on what I have read online. I also have not found any comforting info online when it comes to lung cancer and especially esophagus cancer.   I know many of you on here are praying men and women and would appreciate prayers for my daddy as well as my family. He nor I are very emotional people so I am having a tough time figuring out how to react to it and I can't read how he is doing over the phone ( he lives in north MS). I am praying for healing but I have come to realize that while we can pray specifically for things I have to realize that God is working something in this and it may not involve healing....and that can be tough to swallow.   I have never really talked to him about God and what he believes mainly from fear of not hearing what I want to hear. That is my main fear; that he will leave this world not knowing and having a relationship with Jesus. So please also pray that I can have that "in" to a conversation with him and that he will be open to at least talking about it.   It is still early in all of this though and no prognosis has been given so hopefully it is less severe than I believe. Thanks guys/gals.
  16. Well at that point I think you have to weigh the two sides. You want him to be able to protect himself but by keeping them is he putting himself and his family at greater risk? I would have the talk now before his condition gets worse. Trying to have it when they cannot really listen to reason won't do any good.   To the OP I'm glad you guys are all OK. Luckily some eye openers don't involve anyone getting hurt.
  17. I won't say that I wouldn't try to come if we did it weekly but for me monthly would be good. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Yep. I enjoyed it as well. Nice to meet everyone and hopefully remember names and faces with screen names. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. We are on the right when you walk in. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. I believe after doing more research today I am going to go with donkeys only. Probably just two of them because as Swim said they will have it eaten down pretty well. I think they'll also be easier to contain and honestly I just like them better than sheep or goats. I am going to have a time running water line back to my barn though. Wilson county has a few rocks in the ground.
  21.  Well you may be right. Mine isn't curled up on the sides if it matters and I didn't buy it on Broadway.  :pleased:
  22. Well that's good news. I may take you up on coming to check them out after talking to my wife.
  23. Thanks Willis. Yeah the wife is dead serious on getting them. She wants them because they are cute though.  :pleased: Would you say the donkeys alone would be good for brush clearing or do you mainly feed them hay? To be honest I haven't done much research on them in that aspect because I just assumed we would be getting sheep or goats. I'd rather have something that would be easier to fence in.
  24. I am planning on getting a few mini donkeys and either goats or sheep for brush control on the back half of my property. I would guess I have about 1.5 acres that I will fence in for them so I don't think I will need many. I am thinking that sheep will be easier to care for and less prone to wander than goats but am looking for opinions from anyone who has or has had them in the past.   I have the square type cattle fencing on two sides of the area and barbed wire on the other. I will have to run fencing for the front boundry. Any tips on fencing, animal care or whatever is appreciated. There is also an older but sturdy barn that we will use for shelter that would easily hold 10-15 smaller animals. I won't be getting that many though. Probably two mini donkeys and the rest either sheep or goats.
  25. I'll be there for sure. Probably gonna go a little earlier and grab a bite to eat. If I get there first I'll just let them know we may have a group coming. I'll be the guy in the cowboy hat.
