  1. I'm sure it's built sturdy enough but it seems like the GFG could eventually cause wear on the gun if you didn't always pull straight back. Maybe not though.
  2. That makes perfect sense. I'm a noob AR owner so I haven't had to clear a malfunction yet.
  3. I had to google it but it looks cool enough. What's the advantage of this over a larger aftermarket charging handle?
  4. I doubt I'll be in on that one so I don't have a vote but that Brend is sweet! I don't care much for the other one.
  5. I saw that coming a mile away.
  6. I just bought one of the Sparc II's and am also impressed with it. I had read some of the first models has a blueish tint to lens and the power button could be bumped on or off but they have corrected all that on the model 2. I handled both it and the Strikefire but the 2 MOA dot on the Sparc is what sold me. And these two products are made in China so the Spitfires are probably even better!   I have had nothing but good luck with Vortex.
  7. I am wanting to do another AR build in .300 blackout. I was originally wanting an AR-10 but I getting into reloading so I can roll my own for it. I'm gonna build this one from the ground up though. Slowly and piece by piece my wife might add haha. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Heck of a photoshop if it ain't real....
  9. haha funny you say that. I did just that last night but the back of my table was all flat so I easily screwed it into the wall. I actually like it better that way. I'll post up some pics once I get the press in Monday. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Dang. I just can't commit to one cartridge that much.  :pleased:  What if I don't like it??
  11. I doubt my table will move much but it might. Either way my garage foundation has one row of cinder block on the inside of the floor with a 2x6 or 8 on top of it so I can anchor the legs to that.
  12. Dang you can't beat that deal. I am worried about the quality of the Lee scale that comes with it so I will probably pick one of these up right off the bat.
  13. Would you guys use lag screws or bolts for the front two bolts on this press? I believe the way it is going to fall will have me drilling a hole through the 3/4" MDF top ten through a 3.5" 2x4. I could drill that hole all the way out but do I need too? My small vice is installed with lag bolts but I guess I am not constantly pulling up and down on it. I will more than likely have to install a 2x4 backing plate underneath the MDF for the rear bolt.
  14. Yeah I am definitely going to get the deluxe set for the 9mm. Having never used a press before I was a little lost at first but I think I have it mostly figured out now. Bass Pro didn't have the 4 piece sets so I am going to have to look locally or order online. The rifle die set I ordered does not come with the powder charging die so I believe I will have to buy that separately. The deluxe pistol set does come with that. I'll get it all figured out though once I get it in and play with it.
  15. Another question. Lee recommends a rifle charging die with the turret kit. Will this be needed or will the standard die set be sufficient?   Never mind. Figured that out too. The kit comes with all the goodies and spacer needed for powder charging.   I picked up my dies from Bass Pro as everyone seemed to be out online and just bought the Lee Classic Turret online. I'll be getting the rest of my goodies around Christmas. Have to pick out a brass cleaner now and a few other items.   Thanks for all the advice so far.
  16. Yep I don't like pink at all on a gun. Not sure how you can do it with class but surely there is a way. Maybe not anything solid pink. Pink ghost flames?    I'm interested to see the build though.
  17. Yeah I hate all that bright pink furniture they sell. Try to do something not so gaudy. Pink stain would be cool and unique. And put a stock and that bad boy if you want her to shoot it more than a few times haha.
  18. Lee is sneaky with the two different turret models. The linkage looks alot cheaper on that value model. This kit linked below seems to be the good one.   http://www.midwayusa.com/product/785993/lee-classic-4-hole-turret-press-deluxe-kit   I have to say after watching that video and others I am leaning towards the classic turret. I can get in it way cheaper than the rock chucker and will leave extra cash for dies and manuals and such. Down the road I'll get another turret and set of dies for 9mm. Ole Larry isn't going crazy with shipping on me anymore either.
  19. I'm gonna go to Bass Pro tonight and see if I can put my hands on the press. I am leaning still towards the RCBS. If for not other reason than I like green better than red...    I have been kicking around a turret press in the back of my head though. They do look a little more efficient.
  20. How does the WTF determine proper length? Does it have a stop in it?
  21. I don't guess I understand how the case trimmer works. Does it just thread into the top of the press and I turn the handle? I see how the standalone units work but don't get the cheaper ones????   Nevermind. Think I found a video.
  22. Thanks. I'll probably be okay with the 3 die set. I won't be sizing just the neck on the rifle and the 9mm won't need to be crimped that well I would't think. Not loading precision ammo for that haha.   So what about case trimming? Is that needed every time you shoot the brass or after so many times? Do the hand trimmers work well? Lee seems to have one but I'm not sure if it will integrate with the RCBS.   http://www.midsouthshooterssupply.com/item/0000690437/Deluxe_Quick_Trim_Case_Trimmer_   If I have to buy the stand alone trimmer that may have to come later. This stuff is starting to add up.
  23. So what would the fourth die be on the rifle? Maybe I should provide links haha.   http://www.midsouthshooterssupply.com/item/0000690694/223_Remington_Ultimate_Rifle_Die_Set_   http://www.midsouthshooterssupply.com/item/0000690502/223_Remington_Full_Length_3_Die_Set_With_Shellholder   http://www.midsouthshooterssupply.com/item/0000690963/9mm_Luger_Deluxe_Pistol_Carbide_4_Die_Set_With_Shellholder   http://www.midsouthshooterssupply.com/item/0000690509/9mm_Luger_Carbide_3_Die_Set_With_Shellholder
  24. So looking at the Lee dies they have a 4 die set for around $40 and a three die set for around $25. What's the fourth die for? I was looking at getting .223 and 9mm. The 9mm are carbide. The description on their website has me confused though.
  25. I'm ready for pics of this bad boy. I had forgotten about it over the holidays. Can't wait! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
