  1. Agreed, but by that same standard some folk can turn a firearm into tens of thousands of those $$$ (most of which I would not own)...and I go on the record apologizing to the hardcore trap/skeet folks on here........which again is my point.....you spend yo dimes on what you be done wantin'.....
  2. No offense, but of all the State employee's I know, your Wife must desreve a raise because I have yet to meet one that works a full day...................Maybe East TN is now different from the Nashville I knew.....It does not happen much unless they are Po-Po's or FireFolk.........
  3. You don't have to worry about that at all......The State Employee lots are usually empty by 1:15 Central....As soon as they get back from lunch and shut their computers down..........As onlt witnessed from experience.......from one who used to date a State Employee........In Nashville............not very far from the stadium...........
  4. Agreed....But like I said, when I was able to get mine back around 2002/3, they were not that expensive...I was even able to have Psalm 23 imprinted on the holster for it........... I never meant to turn this into a $$$ deal.......I just have one and from a design/durabilty standpoint, I have never seen anything to its equal......and for the record, I also have pleanty of knives, axes etc...especially my favorite which was givien to me from a Pacific WWII Marine Vet when I was younger....The original canvas case, sharpening stone and two small books on the care and how to kill the enemy.......It holds a special place for me because of who carried it and thus, gave it to me, but when you hold them both, no comparison....... Again, was not trying to start anything about $$$$.....dhESQ
  5. Concur........However, if things go south in certain situations, or if there is a place you are caught w/o gun/ammo, I will take that Eagle Talon anyday........I would agree with you completley until I was able to see one for the first time and then bought mine. There is a big reason our Troops carry them in conflict...If anyone else in SE TN wants to try and take a field trip to see their operation after the first of the year let me know.....I do not know Ryan, but I know there are those on this forum that do and I would enjoy shaking his hand for what he does.
  6. From what I read, he got a huge opportunity to be a sectional leader of a multi-sectional neighbood in a small suburb of East Egypt reporting to the small division, numerous bosses leader of Amway.....Scratch that. the "NEW" Amway. It's about the long term folks.........
  7. I assume by default you are married.......
  8. .........Well.....since i bought one (several years ago and not as expensive), look at it like a buying a new/used gun that never needs bullets or cleaning.....except after cleaving the skull of a ZOMBIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  9. Oh lord...Celtic Village People...????

  12. He really does do great work.....I have never met him, but one of these days I want to try and connect with him and check out his operation.
  13. I first read about them in the local paper a few years ago and was able to get one when they were only selling to current or former Military and I love it......they have several differnt versions and a few of my friends have bought one.....I carry mine on a shoulder sling that hangs at the waist... They are made by RMJ Tactical....RMJTACTICAL.COM

  18. This makes me sick....... Remembrance Day: Poppy-burning Muslim protesters mar Armistice Day | Mail Online
  19. I have had a pair of VZ Papa G's for 3 years and love them.....Glass lenses, polarized and the wrap around fit blocks out the light through the sides. They are great on a trout stream with fly rod in hand....IMHO. Von Zipper Papa G Polarized Glass Black Gloss/Grey Polarized Glass Lens - Zappos.com Free Shipping BOTH Ways
  20. Thanks for the info CK1.......Glad I decided to buy it !
  21. For what it is worth with a 12 pound whole bird you say you are planning on frying, cook the over vs. under on the minutes per pound.....especially at 350 degrees......I have only been doing this for about 20 years, but if you go with 350 at 2.5 mins/lbs your guest may be very sick......Pun intended......
  22. CK1, From the links you provides above, I am not sure what to make of mine....In the pictures in the 2 links above, it is more of a block lettering. Mine is more of a script and is stamped 98 by the ejector port. Like this one from the CZ Forum they provided:
  23. As a veteran turkey fryer, I agree with hardknox above on the peanut oil. What I have begun doing the last several years is just doing several turkey breasts with the skin on and doing a dry rub mixed with hot sauce and keeping it in the fridge for about 24 hours before cooking. Some of the injection packages you can buy can overpower the birds natural flavor when you fry one. The other trick I always tell people to do if they are new to frying is to do a wet run. Once you buy your bird, whole or breasts, before you marinate, use water in the fryer and then place the bird in to determine the exact oil line you will need once you start cooking and mark it on the outside/inside with a piece of tape that can be removed when you are ready to cook. There are plenty of videos on YouTube showing the dangers of using too much oil and the water trick allows for you to adjust for each birds weight. You just need it barely covering the top. The other essential need is a long stemmed thermometer to help regulate the temp. You have to keep it consistant. Let me know if you have more specific questions....Oh and don't forget the fireproof long armed gloves. They are golden. Duckhunteresq
