  1. EBONICS: U dun B strapped homie? ENGLISH: Are you carrying a firearm?
  2. Thank you for making this observation and conclusion. You stated it much better than I could have. Establishments that place non-TCA compliant signs and decals on their doors and storefronts don't care if you are carrying concealed. If you don't make a big deal out of it, they won't. It makes the sheeple feel safe. A lot of liquor stores are still posting the old signs. If they don't know the difference or have a problem with you legally carrying concealed, find a new store and drop the old place a line about being stuck on stupid. Again, if you don't make a big deal out of it, they won't.

    How many?

Drop the mag about an inch, place it on top of the bottle cap, put lanyard loop under rim, rock forward. Repeat six times, lock gun away, help best friend enjoy the effort. One more for those of you who own high dollar 1911s with lowered ejection port.

Suntzu, Very good. This is a GI 1911A1 with a lanyard loop.
  5. The BHP was designed in response to a French Army request. Browning died before the final design was done and before the first prototype. When the first prototypes were delivered, France discovered that it did not have the money to buy them and re-equip its army(there are lots of other versions and theories also). At this point, FN (then owned by the Belgian government) went out and sold the finalized design called the HP to other governments, the rest is history. Some folks who are less than charitable of our gallant French allies maintain that lack of a pop up white flag on the design killed it. Vive le frogs.
  6. The French knew what they were doing.

Nobody here ever carry a 1911A1 in the service? #1 Lock slide back. Place barrel over top of beer, push forward until dust cover is under the edge of the cap. Rock gun forward, remove cap, enjoy.

How many bottle openers on a GI 1911?
  9. Howdy from the wrong side of the tracks in Bellvue(Nashville area). I have lived here a couple of years after moving from VA. I am mostly a plinker these days. I have a deep and abiding love for Smith revolvers and 1911s, but carry Glocks. I also reload pistol calibers and hunt once in a while. Mostly I try to relive my youth by being as dirty an old man as possible. Yes, my avatar is gold plated Lorcin .380. It came from the custom shop with a trigger job, polished feed ramp, Action job, tuned extractor, carbon fiber composite trigger and custom grips. After all that custom tuning it will usually fire four rounds without jamming. Why a gold plated Lorcin, it came from a guitar player. I was told upon moving to Nashville that anything could be explained away by invoking a guitar player. I look forward to the board.
  10. Once upon a time, my wife kept nagging me to get out of the house. My brief fling at retirement was driving her crazy. The least demanding job I could find was working security in an office building at night. Never amounted to much an office building ninja either. They did not appreciate me trying to make the elevators go faster by changing a few settings in the control box. They were also VERY unreceptive to the Dillon 550 that I bolted to the security desk. Building management decided to terminate the security contract. They said it was safer without me there. Security company was not amused either.
  11. A serious hunter only needs a pump action Remington 870 12 Ga., a 760\7600 in favorite deer caliber, and a Remington pump .22. All have the same controls in the same location. My father had a 760 in .300 Savage and in 40 years killed trainloads of deer, a couple of black bears, a moose and a caribou. My brother has the gun now and kills a couple of deer and cayotes every year with it. Accuracy is not MOA but minute of whitetail is close enough. The best deal in a hunting rifle right now would be a synthetic 7600 in your favorite deer caliber. I think I have seen large aftermarket mags, but the factory 5 rounder is all you need for hunting. You probably won't live long enough to wear the original out.
