Heavy Metal and Heavy Tactical Optics require 1 hit anywhere within the scoring perforations on paper to neutralize. 9.1.2 Example of scoring and penalties on paper targets: a. One Zero Down (-0) hit = no penalty b. Two hits in any combination of One Down (-1) and Three Down (-3) hits or one hit anywhere within the scoring perforations by .308 = no penalty c. One hit on paper but not in a Zero Down area = 5 second penalty d. Target not neutralized but target was engaged = 10 to 60 second penalty depending on stage e. Target Not Engaged (TNE) = 10 second penalty for not making the minimum two hits anywhere on the target plus 5 seconds, per target, for the TNE PROCEDURAL for a total penalty of 15 seconds per target added to time. 9.1.3 Paper targets used in the match will be IPSC,USPSA, IDPA and sometimes “special” style targets. 9.1.4 Designated “No Shoot” targets that are hit will incur a 10 second penalty for each hit. 9.1.5 Knock down style targets (i.e. poppers or steel) must fall to score or must fall to penalize. 9.1.6 Frangible targets must break to score (one BB hole is a break). 9.1.7 Swinging style rifle targets must be struck solid enough to cause the hidden “flash card” to be visible to the RO. RO may call hits. 9.1.8 Failure to engage a frangible, knock down or swinging style target will result in a 15-second penalty (10 sec. for not making the hit and 5 sec. TNE). 9.1.9 Engaging a frangible, knock-down or swinging style target but not breaking it, knocking it down or causing the target to react will result in a 10 second penalty per target. 9.1.10 Procedural penalties, 5 seconds per shot, may be assessed for failing to follow the stage directions as written in the stage description. 9.1.11 Procedural penalties, 5 seconds, may be assessed for failing to follow stage procedures. 9.1.12 Stage Not Fired (SNF/DNF) penalty, 600 seconds per stage not fired. 9.1.13 Maximum penalty time for any stage (including target penalties) is 600 seconds. 9.2 Stage Points 9.2.1 First Place (lowest time) for each stage, in each division, will receive 100 points; Second Place and below will figure points on a percentage basis of the 100 from 1st Place. 9.2.2 Total points accumulated for all stages will determine the match placement by division. 9.2.3 Ties will be broken by an undisclosed Tie Breaker Stage designated by the Range Master. 9.2.4 Highest score wins. 10. Arbitration Rules & General Principles 10.1 Administration • Occasional disputes are inevitable in any competitive activity governed by rules. It is recognized that at the more significant levels of competition, emotions run high and the outcome is much more important to the individual competitor. However, effective match administration and planning will prevent most, if not all, disputes. 10.2 Access • Protests may be submitted for arbitration except the actual scoring of targets. However, protests arising from a disqualification for a safety infraction will only be accepted to determine whether or not an infraction as described by the range official was in fact unsafe. The commission of the infraction may not be protested. 10.3 Appeals • Decisions are made initially by the Range Officer. If the complainant disagrees with a decision, the Chief Range Officer for the stage or area in question should be summoned and asked to rule. If a disagreement still exists, the Range Master must be summoned and asked to rule and his decision is final.
  10. Good shootin today. What would the Rock be if it didnt have some kind of extream weather.   Congrats DBTN on the win. Squad 3 was alot of fun. Hope to do it again soon.
  11. You should have heard the camera girl laughing her butt off.   I had no idea untill someone told me about turf surfin
  12. some poor kid in your neighborhood is missing his bike helmet.
  13.   I'm afraid there may be no classification for you DanO. Sir.
  14. I do it once a year. If it needs it or not.
  15. If the bore is stubborn about coming clean with just using solvent then I do the following:   If 12ga i use a 20ga bronze bore brush (next size smaller). I then wrap several cut "strings" of copper Chore Boy pot scrubber around the brush until its snug when pushed into the bore. Give the bore 5-6 passes and then followed solvent clean should get the bore spotless. If not repeat.
  16. Nice to meet you JBennett. Cleveland does a very good 3-G match every month. One of my fav's. See you at the next one.
  17. The rule of have "members only" parking at a club is not the Issue here in my opinion . Paying your money (in this case 30.00) to shoot a match and then having someone pull your score sheet after the match is over and never telling you that this could happen is poor judgement and the issue here. If I don't park in the right spot tell me face to face that you are going to keep my money and my score sheet then I will decide to move, shoot or communicate. If a shooter breaks a safety rule or some other DQ'able offense, more power to you. The shooter deserves to forfeit match fees and scores and hopefully no one got hurt. If someone parks in wrong spot and get what amounts to a DQ, whats next? Wear the wrong color shirt and get kicked of the range forever? Seems a bit over the top.
  18. I guess YOU went first in this post about personal matters that should be not be publicly advertised. Thats Ok I wont whine about it to anyone. I didnt see a sign about parking and I walked up the hill to pay my 30.00 beans to RO on my squad. Do RO's get to park at the top of the hill with members? Maybe I should get a refund for working and not asking for anything. Better yet, keep the 30.00 bucks and consider it my last time I grace your range. Too bad. The competitive shooting community is small. See you around buddy. I wish you the best of luck. Alan Shepherd
  19. The accuracy of the pistol cartridge is going to be the down fall compaired to a standard rifle cartridge. For example a few years ago I shot the BRM3g in KY. I took some "short" range blasting ammo and some "long" range ammo. I shot over 200 "long" range shots and 0 short range shots. Most shots at that match was over 100 yards away and as far away as 400 yards. It would have been at a serious disadvantage to be shooting a pistol cartridge at those ranges. Most local matches are not going to have targets past 100 so a pistol cartride wouldnt be a huge disadvantage there. USPSA matches are the only org to use the "power factor" in compteitions
  20. Load two....Shoot two.....Load two....Shoot two.....Load two....Shoot two.....Load two....Shoot two.....Load two....Shoot two.....Load two....Shoot two.....Load two....Shoot two.....Load two....Shoot two.....
