I hunt them in the summer but no I dont skin them. Most of them are to stinky and nasty. I dont skin a whole lot but if I do it has to have a really nice pelt. We can definitely go just let me know. Predator hunting and turkey hunting are my favorite. Deer comes 2nd. -

Well here it is. I went with a Millett SP1 3moa dot for the optic. It got great reviews and everyone said it will hold up to some recoil.

I have a gorilla suit. I should use it lol.

I have not seen him or the 11 pointer. So far just a few small bucks, does, fawns and several really nice toms. Last year they didnt show up until November when it was colder and chasing does. They went nocturnal on me. Ended up killing a scrubby 7 that needed to go and a good 8 pointer. That land is turning out to be a better turkey spot than deer. I took 2 of the 3 turkeys i killed off that property. Im hoping the big bucks come back and get there picture taken lol. This year I plan on staying in the blind all day much more.

Fall turkey hunting is a good challenge and to me thats what I like, a good challenge. I do agree it is better in the spring but that shouldnt stop someone wanting to go in the fall.
-
I dont see any reason not to hunt turkeys in the fall if someone wants to. Turkey is turkey no matter if its in spring or fall. You just hunt them different. Being able to harvest hens is a good management tool. As far as license and such, you will need to take the hunters safety course.

Im diabetic so if I sit all day I have to eat something. I bring my tester, fruit snacks or trail mix, drinks and a sandwich.
-
I use corn or deer mix. This year I put out a mineral block and they love that thing. I will quit baiting at least 3 weeks before I start hunting.

Thanks and that's a cool mansion.

If you ever need any help just ask me.

I can usually get it done in 2 days. If I harvest a deer in the morning and I'm off that day I can usually get it all done or at least most of it. I'm not against deer processors but I know what I'm getting if I do it myself. Some places don't guarantee your deer and if they do who's to say they just say that to get business. Plus im always worried about contaminated meat from improper cleaning. I also don't want some old deer when I've killed a nice young doe. I've always done it myself since I was young. My stepdad taught me how. Sorry if I sound paranoid lol.
-
I skin and quarter my deer after harvest. I wrap the meat up and put it on ice water. I work on it over a couple of days.
-
You should look into doing it yourself. I do and its rewarding to harvest, clean and process it yourself.

Thanks yall. I can't wait to get back down there and visit some other places as well. Its well worth the time and effort.

Some are close but they are spread out. You can google walking dead locations and it should give you a map of where they are located.

Couple of my friends and I decided to make the drive to Georgia last week and visit as many of the film locations we could find. We managed to see a bunch of them. Some of the locations are off limits like the farm house which is privately owned, the prison is actually a studio set and the rock quarry is owned by the city of Atlanta and is posted. Other than that we seen a bunch. It's cool cause some of the locations are far apart but seem like they are just around the corner on the series and some are really close but seem far away in the series. We did visit "Woodbury" which is actually Senoia, GA. It was pretty fun driving the back roads of Georgia looking for these places. They have an app called GA walking dead tours and it's a do it yourself help guide. The town of Senoia is actually home to a bunch of different films and TV shows. We plan on going back soon and finding the new season locations and some we missed. In these pics I took a pic and combined it with either the scene pic from the movie or a pic that represents what it is. If you have seen the show you will know most of them. http://i525.photobucket.com/albums/cc340/bean962/PhotoGrid_1377955205429_zps97ecbaa4.jpg http://i525.photobucket.com/albums/cc340/bean962/PhotoGrid_1377996529299_zps84621ee0.jpg http://i525.photobucket.com/albums/cc340/bean962/PhotoGrid_1377996456966_zps8379e9a7.jpg http://i525.photobucket.com/albums/cc340/bean962/PhotoGrid_1377996415678_zps4b4cb508.jpg http://i525.photobucket.com/albums/cc340/bean962/PhotoGrid_1377996415678_zpsdfdf0546.jpg http://i525.photobucket.com/albums/cc340/bean962/PhotoGrid_1377995812996_zps596ec840.jpg http://i525.photobucket.com/albums/cc340/bean962/PhotoGrid_1377995656880_zpsfa6ea842.jpg http://i525.photobucket.com/albums/cc340/bean962/PhotoGrid_1377995415753_zps2bf9382e.jpg http://i525.photobucket.com/albums/cc340/bean962/PhotoGrid_1377994637659_zpsf5ea872a.jpg http://i525.photobucket.com/albums/cc340/bean962/PhotoGrid_1377994423355_zpsd0c92b2e.jpg http://i525.photobucket.com/albums/cc340/bean962/PhotoGrid_1377994143389_zps71d91692.jpg http://i525.photobucket.com/albums/cc340/bean962/PhotoGrid_1377990001880_zps9554e65d.jpg http://i525.photobucket.com/albums/cc340/bean962/PhotoGrid_1377982982894_zpse4ce0c9c.jpg http://i525.photobucket.com/albums/cc340/bean962/PhotoGrid_1377982935360_zpsa5e4cc7c.jpg

Hunting License for Non-protected Species?
ShaunM replied to Oh Shoot's topic in Hunting and Fishing
why does this not surprise me. -
I think their rates are way to high. If killing a nuisance pest costs that much, well they can keep them.
