East TN April shoot

Recommended Posts

Juice cans: not sure. Whatever you want to shoot, I guess.

7.62x39 - I don't know, you want me to get some details? By the way, going through my stuff I found some sks stripper clips and a handful of 7.62x39. Old steel cased surplus stuff... Think I will bring a crate down to the shoot with a bunch of oddball stuff I don't need anymore. Anyone need a brand new plastic stock and forearm for an 870?

Kind of fond of the .32 myself. Just sold my Llama to a lady, still have the colt and the PP.

are the fury demons in the house Mark?

I may need more info to be of assistance.

Offhand I would recommend laying out glue traps where their pathway is. A good second line of defense is rat bait poison ( them little pellet things that come in a tray). They eat it and get really thirsty, they go to get something to drink. The bait turns to cement in their intestines and they die soon after. Normally they have to go outside to drink so the risk of them dying indoors is minimal.

I put one of them pellet bait things in the eave of the house and I have not heard a foot step since. A guy at the Knoxville Home Show recommended this method(off the record he said) to Karin. It seems to work so far.

Myself I preferred the glue trap because I either got to execute with gunfire or a wack with a shovel.

They're in the eaves. I got one with CCI ratshot, but am going with the poison blocks I picked up at Lowes.

Pontiac, I know that Mike and CAS are planning on camping, I think that SunTzu might be camping, not sure if Boomhower will make it...

Mike, depending on when you get off from work (if early enough) I might see if I can hitch a ride with you Friday night so I can spend as long as I can down there. It's an enjoyable place to be.

Well, I was talking to Mike .357, but it depends on the location and time. If he can't take me (leaves too early, or can't fit me), I'll see what we can match up.

Mike, FYI, I'm only taking handguns this time, and MAYBE my Marlin 36A, since they are what I REALLY need to practice with the most.

I had mentioned to Mike.357 a couple weeks ago that I thought it might be good to have a swap meet kind a thing at one of the shoots. Mike thought you wouldn't mind if we did it at your shoot. How do you feel about that? Do you mind if we all bring some of our extras and see if we can find new owners for some of it?

Mark I think the poison blocks are the same stuff as the pellets. I had better luck with pellets but it was probably more about placement than the bait. I have an industrial bait trap on the side of the house. ( one of them black things you see near dumpsters or culverts near businesses) I check it monthly and replace as need be.

Have you had any luck finding where they are getting in at?

Cody lets see what we can work out. I plan onleaving directly from work in Knoxville.

Can you get a ride to where my warehouse is at? I am hopeful to be on the road by about 1 pm. Don't you have school?

i had a dream about the shoot last night, it must be on my mind some.

That's what I was largely wondering about, when you were going ot leave. Looks like I might go with Pontiac, or just go up Saturday with Mom (so she can shoot too) and spend the night through Sunday (leaving Sunday evening)

Knoxville folks...

I'm gonna try to go up, but only on Saturday and not camp overnight...come back that same evening/night.

Can only haul one other person in toy truck, but been meaning to get my big ass van going again, so if I do, can haul 5 or 6 folks and gear comfortably ...

Will keep in touch on this ...

I don't have any service type weapons, mainly just going up to socialize and maybe finally meet some of you legendary characters.

You can ride with me if you want to meet somewhere. I got plenty of room uin the trunk for guns and taking some cardboard to lay on for the "zombie shoot".
