Gun transfer form

I bought my wife a new Ruger LCP and she is not strong enough to move the slide back. She will continue to carry her S & W Air Weight. I want to give the gun to my son, who is 41 and does not live with us. Is there a form I need to have him sign to transfer the pistol to him? :D

nothing to use at all. Just give it or sell it. That is assuming he is in TN. If not then yes you will have to take it to a dealer in his state and he will do the transfer for you.

to further answer your question, TN does not have firearm registration, contrary to popular belief. when you buy it, it is only to verify that you can legally own a gun not to register it. you can sell it or give it to whoever you want with absolutely no paperwork at all.

Guys, if he lives in another state then it has to go through an FFL. Let's not have any of this sneaky "the less they know" crap since it's essentially advocating an illegal act. We don't need that sort of nonsense on TGO. We do it above board here or we don't do it.

I believe it is legal to lend a handgun to someone from out of state.

I am sure one of the legal eagles here can verify this. If not and he is out of state then a transfer is the only way to go. Not sure why i am thinking lending is okay, but it really sticks out in my mind.

In state, make a gift of it, no paper trail needed.
