I’ve got a couple Yaesus portables, but have been kinda lusting after the Kenwood TH-D75A lately.

Might check out this one at half the price.

I have the previous "non II" version.
AFAIK, it lacks the capability of operating in tandem with a PC .. only programs with one.

Looks like a cool radio.  I should have also added that I’m not even licensed yet.  I’ve gone overboard and already have 8 HTs, from Baofengs to Wouxons to Yaesus.  Ever hear about getting the cart before the horse? Ha, that’s me.  Radios are a sickness just as bad as guns are! Anyway, I’m still looking at portables, but I hope the next one I buy is a decent dual band mobile/base, but even with that I’m not seriously looking until I get my Technician license. I have some books and study software and just need to buckle down and study.  There’s a ham event in Lebanon next month and I want to be licensed by then, if I can do this.  I’m over 70, and find that I don’t grasp some of the technical stuff and definitely not the math at my age.  I’m retired now and need to spend more time studying instead of reading about radios!
