How’s the best way to go about selling a $20 Liberty gold coin to get the most out of it. Do you go by weight, condition , the date or all of the above?

It can go a couple of ways:

1-Weight

2- Year

3- Graded or not Graded

When you look up on Gold, or Silver Coins there is a premium called Spot Price Premium that coin dealers will add to their coins to cover their so called cost for shipping ect.... I'd look up a few coin dealers that are local and they will explain what it is worth, I've sold a few coins to a dealer in Brentwood and he's always treated me fairly on price when I sold them to him. It's Nashville Coin here's the link, go to their website and read up on some of their articles on coins.

Advertise it here in the classifieds.

Is it something special, or just a common year/mint, etc?

If you look at ebay, Ampex, etc, you'll find a pretty wide spread between spot price and the price of some rare examples. Of course, condition is important as well.

Heck, I'd buy it if the price is right. It really depends on how much effort and research you want to put into selling it, and how much you want to get out of it.

Unless it's worn smooth, the floor is $3000+ right now.
