Airline approved handgun case?

Hey guys,

Where is the best and most affordable place to get an airline approved case for my pistol(s)?

Titan, one often touted is the Center of Mass.

Can be used with cable in car, or bolted into car frame, or carried, as on airline.

"Meets Transportation Security Administration (TSA) guidelines for transporting your weapon in your checked luggage when flying."

I have one, it's pretty good for the price...

It'll only hold one pistol, extra mag, and a box of 50 ammo, in the case of my XD 9 though. And that's the large one, I see no reason to get the smaller one.

Also, most folks say that the hard plastic case from the pistol maker that the gun comes in will qualify, as long as it has holes in handle for a lock. Some do, some don't.

Pelican makes some you might can find locally.

Really, any hard case, metal or plastic, that has either built-in lock or hole for padlock seems to suffice for TSA rules.

edit: the Center of Mass can be had off Cabela's, Midway, CTD, I forget where all I've seen them, although they don't call it by that brand name; seem to have a manufacturing/re-branding agreement with Center of Mass.

I picked up a Pelican case at Academy for less than $50. It may have been $30. I put two pad locks on it and have flown with it several times.

I have a vanguard outback. 36c i think is the number. Has an internal locking system as well as pad locks. Will hold whatever gun and ammo you want. Extremely durable and rigid. Can find them under 40-50 if you look online.

I've flown multiple times with my Glock stuck in its hard case (a locked hard case is all that was required) from the manufacturer and a walmart padlock.

Ammo only needed to be stored in a factory like box (box and foam) not a locked container.
