Hello All!

Old Hickory Sportsmen Friends of NRA will hold their annual dinner & auction on Saturday, August 8, 6pm, Hendersonville High School, 123 Cherokee Rd in Sumner County. We represent Robertson, Sumner, & Trousdale counties.

We offer a fun evening for a great cause. Funds raised go to support NRA Foundation grants in support of organizations such as JROTC, Boy Scouts, 4-H, Eddie Eagle Gun Safety, and various scholastic high school shooting teams.

A few special notes about this year's event:

1) You can win a fantasy range shoot for two courtesy of TGO Authorized Vendor Hero Gear. This live auction item features the opportunity to shoot a variety of full-auto and supressed firearms. Lunch ammo, & t-shirt included. Your choice of one of two dates.

2) Door prize this year is a Walther PPS in 9mm, MSRP of $713.00. Door prize courtesy of event FFL Guns & Leather.

3) Country recording artist Tammy Allen will sing our National Anthem. She can really bring it!

4) We'll have raffle tickets for a drawing with the grand prize being the complete 2009 NRA merchandise package, including all 8 guns. $20.00/ticket.

We'll also have some of the best barbecue and cobbler in TN, games, prizes, live and silent auctions. 8 guns in the live auction! In the silent auction we will have a US flag that flew over a US base in Afghanistan. (With documentation provided.)

Best of all, I am working with TGO David to secure a TGO table at the event, so we can all sit together and get in at a discount. If you want to be part of the TGO table, PM me.

Online ticket sales and all the details are located here. Tickets are $30.00/ea, 2 for $50.00, or a table of 8 for $200.00.

We are also doing an exclusive TN Sponsorship option this year. Olympic Arms is making 3 of their AR platform rifles available for us to offer this opportunity: For a $1500.00 donation, you get your choice of one of three different long guns (rifle, carbine, or match) and an $800.00 tax deduction. The rifles have a MSRP of close to $1000.00, so you are getting the rifle for about $700.00 after the tax break. That's a pretty good deal. If you are interested in this, PM me.

This is a good time for a great cause, so come on out and join us!

Here is an update on some of the items we've collected for the silent auction so far:

1) Official glassware from the US House of Representatives

2) US flag flown over a US military base in Afghanistan

3) TN and US flags flown over the TN capitol

4) Dick's Sporting Goods gift certificates

5) Authentic Marie Osmond memorabilia (don't ask, I don't know...)

6) Landscape plantings

7) Carpet cleaning certificates

8) Free range pass (6 sessions) to Guns & Leather

9) Home-made patriotic tye-dye t-shirt (XL)

10) Handgun shooting for women instructional video

11) Free tickets to the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum, donated by a TGO member!

And more stuff coming! And this does not include the Hero Gear Fantasy Shoot and Tactical Response class to be auctioned in the live auction.

The TGO table is starting to fill up, so if your interested in hanging with TGO members and helping a good cause, contact me or TGO David ASAP. If TGO buys a table together, we save $ and get preferred seating.

Hey folks...

As Len stated, we are trying to do a TGO Table at this dinner and right now it sounds like we are on our way to being able to have enough people present to pull it off. Essentially by buying it as a table, we are able to save a little bit of money individually.

If you are going to attend, please reply and fill your name into the list below. If we have enough to do TWO tables, that would be even better!

Table #1

1. TGO David

2. Mrs. TGO David

3. Hornet Handler

4. Mrs. Hornet Handler

5. DunnDW

Surely there are more TGO members on that side of town who can go out and support the NRA. This group should have a large contingent at many banquets across the state with the number of active members in the bigger cities.
