Big time yes on that.

I've met him a time or two. Nice guy, very likable, intelligent, thoughtful, almost "wonkish". But totally wrong on this issue, IMO. Maybe its his constituency, because daddy (Beverly Briley, first metro mayor --you may have been stuck in traffic on his namesake parkway once or twice) was not an anti-gunner, and such things often run in families.

I don't have time to find it this morning, but Briley had been order in for psychiatric observation a couple of weeks before this. The guy has problems. They should be private problems, not public ones. Time for him to retire.

Briley pleads guilty; will serve 10 daysBy John Rodgers, jrodgers@nashvillecitypaper.com State Rep. Rob Briley pleaded guilty to DUI today but had his felony evading arrest charge suspended for up to two years.

Briley (D-Nashville) will serve 10 days in jail for the DUI as his sentence was suspended down.

Briley will serve the 10 days on the weekends in Wilson Co. jail. He also had to pay a $350 fine plus court costs and is on misdemeanor probation.
