Glock 27 conversion to 9mm

Can a model 27 glock be converted to a model 26 with the installation of a new barrel and magazines? Does anyone have knowledge of this, and are there any issues. Main reason is cost of shooting 40 vs 9 mm ammo. Would like to keep the 40 for personal protection.

I have seen nor have I heard of any issues except with people who try to be cheap and use their .40 magazines instead of buying 9mm's. There are plenty of makers Lone Wolf, Storm Lake, Bar Sto etc. etc. If you want really good accuracy (this is a relative term when describing a sub-sompact), get the Bar Sto and get it fitted by a 'smith. For most uses the Lone Wolf will work fine and only costs around $100.00.

Yes, same concept. But don't get a g26 barrel. You need a conversion barrel and new mags. To change to G27, you just need a G27 barrel (you can use the same mags .40 and .357 sig are identical but you want to make sure you know what is loaded).

Some have issues because the 9mm and .40 ejectors are different; sometimes, it doesn't seem to matter. Get a Lone Wolf 40-to-9 conversion barrel, a couple G26 magazines, and you'll probably be fine.

Thinking you could buy a good bit of ammo for what the conversion parts and fitting will end up costing you. Probably find another decent used Glock in 9mm for not a whole lot more.

+1 for the Lone Wolf Conversion. I have a G32 with a KKM .40 and a Lone Wolf 9 conversion barrels.

For under $250 (in addition to the gun), I can swap between 3 calibers. I have had no problems with the extraction of the 9MM using the stock G32 extractor. I personally wouldn't carry the 9MM conversion for defense just because it is a conversion and is more likely to have an issue over the others. But for the cost and fun of the 9MM at the range or even IDPA, the conversion is a good choice.

With the G33, you have two options. You can get a stock or aftermarket regular G27 barrel and use your stock G33 mags, and you can convert it to .40 s&w. You can also get a .357sig to 9mm conversion barrel and some G26 mags, and convert it to 9mm.

Got a Lone Wolf Conversion barrel fo rmy G27, works great. I did get a G26 mag so that I didn't have to worry about what I had in the mags.

LW barrel and 26 mags. I have one for my 27 and just picked up one for my 23. They work great. I put 500 rounds last week through my 23 with the LW barrel and 19 mags w/o a single hiccup. It is also more accurate than the stock Glock barrel. That is because it has tighter tolerances. If you have feeding issues LW recommends shooting a couple of mags to a box of +P ammo through their barrel. But, I have had no such issues.

The only cost is for the barrel and mags. Somebody mentioned smithing, but these are drop in barrels, they require ZERO smithing. If you were to decide and carry I would recommend a change of the extractor trigger housing, less than $25 and a change to the 26 extractor, $10. But if you aren't going to carry, it doesn't make sense to change those.

The ejector is nearly exactly the same. What is different is the extractor, but it works fine the vast majority of the time. As I said though LW does recommend changing the extractor if you planned to carry it.

It is a great way to get trigger time at a much reduced cost from 40. If you reload especially this is a big plus as 9mm is so easy to find. Also you could if you chose shoot lead out of the LW whereas the Glock polygonal bore barrels should not have lead fired through them.
