dug up this thread and thought i'd add to it. these are just my experiences, so YMMV.

for ammo you can't go wrong with the previously mentioned wideners. It is easy to drive past because they don't have a sign, just look for the white building on the right but before crowders. I get cci blazer aluminum 9mm there for 7.20/50. you have to be a regular before they soften up. usually have about 10 guns in the shop they've taken in -- never found one I had to walk out with.

i'll echo the crowders comments. one of those places that has a "going out of business" sale three or four times a year. I pop in to see what they have, but have never seen a "good price" on anything yet. I've also heard (third and fourth person mind you) of some shady deals and practices there, even on FFL transfers in.

H+S hunting (I think that is the name) in e-town is a good bunch, and they matched the best inet price I found on a gun.

volunteer up on the bristol highway is small, but good guys. they usually try to work with you and will order in whatever you want. it's so far away from my usual routes I rarely stop in.

mahoneys is usually higher priced, but you just gotta see what they have and then try to haggle.

I echo the comments on the shop in jonesboro, starts with a K I think, and it was mentioned earlier in this thread. good guys, easy to talk to, and they will listen to your offers. its on top of the jonesboro pizza parlor I think, in that little strip mall'esque group of shops near the main intersection.
