I live on a road that is dog leg shaped, the addresses change from 359 to 373 at the bend. I live at 359 lot xx and there is some putz that is always in trouble with the law at 373 lot xx. Over the last 5 years I have complained repeatedly, put a note on my front door, and placed my address in 2 places on the front of the house. Well at 0030hrs I was awakened as well as my neighbors by some moron beating on my door. I think from now on I am not going to answer the door and when they break in and discover they F#$% up and are in the wrong house I am going to sue the snit out of them. I have responses from past e-mails from all kinds of ranking officers swearing this will never happen again to use as ammo in court that this in an uncorrected problem. I used to be a firefighter in Baltimore County MD and before we were allowed to drive we had to have our first due area set to memory especially the odd roads and adressed such as mine.:D:mad::cool::mad::mad:

Nothing obligates you to open the door to a knock at 0 dark 30. I'd wait for them and then start shooting when they come through.

I agree with not answering the door but are you recommending or advocating the killing or shooting of police? The police are not/cannot make entry into your house without probable cause that a crime is being committed or a search warrant. If they come in you should sue.

I would contact the Sheriff directly about this matter. If the "high ranking" members that you have talked to still can't solve the problem then seek out your elected official (the Sheriff). Face to face would work better in this case.

its much better for them to knock on your door, and you send them back next door then to have them not show up at all!

i live in chatt, and there was loud music coming from a couple houses down from about 10:30 till 3:00 friday morning.I called twice and nothing.this seems to be a pattern with cpd.i have had to call them several times in the past and they only came out once and that was because of a shooting :D

thank god ive moved!!

ps,welcome to tgo

That was said tongue in cheek. Rabbi is NOT advocating the shooting of cops. At least I'm pretty sure he wasn't.

No intentions of shooting anyone here!!! I know its the law I could see the cars out front. I just said I am not going to answer the door and let them break in to the wrong house. Then sue for traumatizing me my wife my dog maybe pay for a therapist damages to the house etc. I can prove it is an on going uncorrected problem that they have previous knowledge of.

Feel free to give Sheriff Wayne Anderson a call and leave a message. He WILL call you back, as he gets the time. (423)279-7500 He is a family friend from a long time back, as he actually went to school with my mother.

He WILL get the problem fixed, I assure you.

answer the door with a video camera...tell them ON TAPE your issue, then copy the tape, and mail it to the Sheriff with all of the other stuff you have about the subject...

he will fix it.

Well after you don't answer the door and they kick it in, maybe your heirs can sue them! I am sure they wouldn't make two mistakes the same night and shoot first when they see sudden movement.

I sure would rather have them come to the wrong house instead of not bothering to show up. I also think if you speak with the sheriff face to face when it happens the problem will stop. If it doesn't keep going up the line -city council-mayor-etc.

vero, you seem to have confidence that those boys would win an engagement like that.

I can assure you..if someone kicked in MY door..there better be more than one or 2 of em..my wife and I both would be up and battle ready.

The police have a really hard job..and I wouldn't do it for the world...I have the utmost respect for them.

that being said, if someone breaks into my house without a warrant being served..I don't care if they're George Bush Jr. I'M GOING TO SHOOT THEM. I'll lay money that if its just two of them, I'll have to call a REALLY good lawyer..and 911 and explain why there are 2 bodies on my living room floor.

I agree Towerclimber if someone you don't know kicks in your door they probably deserve whatever happens. However, if someone knocks, and you look out and see police cars and police I think it would be wise to ask them what they want. I myself think Mars suggestion of using common sense is the best way to go. I really don't like having to use lawyers, especially the ones I can afford!
