I joined a while ago to help do research for a first time handgun purchase and after much debate purchased a Gen 3 Glock 19 yesterday. I would just like to say thanks to this forum and everyone that posts to it.

A little bit about myself, I am a recent graduate of the University of Tennessee (Go Vols) and moved to Chattanooga for work.

If anyone has any recommendations for a range in the Chattanooga area I would greatly appreciate it.

Welcome from the east side of the county.

You've got a few options for indoor ranges, Shooters Depot, Carter's and one on Hixon Pike.

Outdoor - Prentice Cooper (not real safe, but free)

Membership - Chattanooga Rifle Club and Cleveland Hunting, Rifle, and Pistol Club.

Greetings from Greater Downtown Lakesite (Soddy Daisy)

Shooter's Depot at Hwy 153 & Shallowford Road is my choice for indoor shooting. You can also take family there, it is a family run shop, and not get f bombed out the door. They have a great range. If you want good rifle, pistol & full auto ranges the Cleveland Rifle, Pistol, Hunting Club is a good place to go. It's an hour from me but I can spend 4-5 hours there shooting various ranges and guns.

All the being said, Real Men shoot Cowboy Action Shooting. Sponsored by the Single Action Shooting Society, The Ocoee Rangers shoot the 4th Saturday of each month, the Tennessee Mountain Marauders shoot the 3rd Saturday at Mystery Dog Ranch off of Wooten Road, off of Exit 1 I75. I shoot .45 Ruger Vaqueros, as does one grandson. Another grandson shoots .38 Rugers and my 13 year old granddaughter shoots Ruger Bearcats. We all share a .38 Marlin lever action rifle; I shoot a 1897 pump 12 gauge, the boys shoot a Hartford double in 12 gauge. Rhinestone Rachel shoots a Henry .22 Golden Boy Rifle and a Stoeger 410 double shotgun. If you are interested in any of this shoot me a PM and maybe I can hep expose you to the Cowboy matches.

If you like guns, shooting and cowboys this is the place to do it. CHRPC also has 3 gun and other events. You are i hour from Wartrace, the home of the Tennessee State SASS Match, and about the same from Oak Ridge where another fine group shoots.
