picked up a new toy

I been looking for a while now for a deer rifle and finally the right one came by.

It is a Marlin XL7 bolt action chamber in .270 cant wait to get it to the range to

see what it will do.Pics are comeing does anyone know of a range around

Nashville to put it through its paces

I hear the barrels are the same as Savage. If that is the case it WILL be a shooter.

Another great feature about them is you can swap in Savage barrels in other calibers if you want. It is something you can do at home in under 20 minutes if you wanted to ever change calibers.

I've heard they're fabulous rifles for the money.

If I'm thinking right, it was one of the first "budget deer rifles" that shot substantially better than the other's before it...god, what was that remington that felt like it had gravel in the action? 710? 770?

Right now seems to be the best time ever to buy a very nice, very accurate hunting rifle for 400 or less. The Ruger American looks very appealing too, as is the Savage Axis.

Sooooo many good choices.
