If only all military, police, and civilian personnel knew the laws to understand when an unlawful order has been given. If a veteran officer in Knoxville can attempt to arrest someone with a permit for open carrying, it's not a stretch that the military would do a gun seizure.

The military tells you to question unlawful orders and not follow them, while yelling in your ear that if you don't follow orders you will die or cause a buddy's death. It's not hard for me to believe that national guardsmen would follow an order to confiscate weaponry. They've been doing it in Iraq for 5 years, so it's not going to feel much different here.
