Walther PPS or hold out for Shield?

I bought the PPS.  I was looking hard at the Kahr CM9, but read too many problems and complaints in Kahr forums and other places.

It is nice to see that there are Kahrs out there that are functioning as they should.  They have a great price point!

I have a Taurus PT709 Slim. Good gun, carry it in a pocket holster. Just like the PPS better......but, the

only reason I didn't trade, and I had planned to, was the amount of $$$, I'd have to pony up to trade.

Couldn't justify the difference. If I was buying staight up, it would be the PPS.

Fondled the Shield, just preferred the PPS. To each his own. Probably couldn't go wrong with either.

As far as I am aware, the first PPS handguns were the ones with the problems (much like the first run of any firearm) and if memory serves me, it was primarily the .40 S&W version that was having the most trouble. That said, I have owned, shot, and carried my PPS in 9mm for a couple of years now and it is simply one of the best handguns I have ever owned (I've owned a compact and sub-compact 9mm from just about every big manufacturer out there).  The PPS gives you the option of 6, 7, or 8 round magazines and it's a very slim handgun.  I can't say enough good things about it, and I can't really think of any negative points.

Keep in mind that Smith & Wesson were the ones making all of the PPK pistols that were plagued with problems, so they have their fair share of issues like any other company.

If I recall correctly, the Kahr CM9 slide rides along the polymer frame, right?  Or does the slide ride on steel pieces set into the polymer?  The PPS rides along a metal slide the entire way.
