Glock 23 Magazine Eject

Is there a way to improve the mag eject on a glock 23. When ejecting I have to literally pull the magazine out which can be a slow process. Is there a good way to make it a little more "gravity assisted" on reload?

Thanks

check your magwell... especially where the mag release is catchin the mag. Cause.... its suppose "sproing" it out.

Different gens can make a difference sometimes.

Some 2nd Gen. Glocks have a tighter mag well than others.I had a 21 that would do that.I tried every thing up to and including Armor All on the mags and in the mag well.Someone mentioned mags, even the first Gen non drop free mags should drop when empty it is only when they are loaded they swell and do not drop.First Gen. Glocks have a pebble grain texture all around the grip.Second Gen. has pebble grain on the sides of the grip and checkering on the front strap and back of grip.Third Gen. has finger grooves and a light rail.Edit to add there were no first Gen. .40 S&W Glocks so you must have at least a Second Gen.

In Robin Taylor's book he mentioned that some Glock frames are just tighter than others and about the only thing you could do if it really bothered you was to sell or trade the gun.I have noticed that the new current mags drop from the older guns pretty well.

Reason I'm just now noticing the drop-free problem now (after 3 months of shooting my g23) is I've got my first IDPA this weekend. Last night while doing some practicing I did notice that when empty it's just a tad bit better on the drop. Also I went and got some dupont teflon and sparingly coated the mag around the notches. Seemed to help just a little bit. In addition I did some very (VERY) light sanding in some of the areas on the mag where I could see "drag" marks. Someone suggested getting some fitted lead weights to attach to the bottom so that they may drop a little better. I'm not sure if this is in the IDPA rule books or USPSA (which I plan to get into eventually).

I'm going to look into the drop-free mags for the g23 and will let you know how it goes.

Take care!

Weighted mags are a no-no in IDPA and USPSA Production. They are okay for USPSA Limited division.Brownells sells brass base pads.

Good to know. I did see those base pads - aren't they the same thing as a weighted mag?
