Front sight question for ar15

Need some advice...I recently installed my new aimpoint onto my colt also with the magpul mbus front and rear sights....the front sight seems to be off to the left just a little bit...is it better to to adjust the front sight itself or the back sight to aim up the red dot?

Sight in your irons first then sight in the red dot via cowitness, at least that's the most accurate way from I undertand but then, I've been wrong before.

I think we need a bit more info here. were the magpul sights zeroed and shooting true before you installed the aimpoint? my thought is to always get my iron sights zeroed before working on the reddots. are you doing a true co-witness or doing the bottom third? if the iron sights were shooting true I would look at a possible mismount on the aimpoint. what is the difference on target between the iron sights and the aimpoint? I would do the following in this situation

1) remove aimpoint

2) do mechcanical zero on front and rear sight

3) zero at desired yardage

4) remount aimpoint ( pushing forward as you torque mounting screws)

5) zero aimpoint at same yardage
