If I used DA/SA guns, the FNP9 would be on my short list.

Same here. Its a sweet little gun...the ergos really fit my hand well and it shot pretty smoothly...BUT...I dont carry, and wont carry a DA/SA pistol. That being said I haven't tried their DAO version, and I have no idea how heavy the pull is...I doubt its any kind of pre cocked system like HK's LEM. Also, I found that the de-cocker wanted to rip the flesh off my hand when racking the slide..but thats just me. Otherwise I thought it was a very underrated pistol.

Supposedly there is a SAO version, but I have not seen or fired one.

I like SAO guns (1911, HiPower, etc.), but prefer my defense guns have no manual safety.

I keep hearing about these, but don't know anyone who's actually seen one. I would get one in a heartbeat if I could find it.

Supposedly, they will be offering a striker-fired version of the FNP in the future (at least that was the word regarding the FNP-45). In my opinion, that would make the G21 and XD45 irrelevant to all but die-hard brand loyalists.

Agreed.

Last I looked Tennessee Gun Country in Clarksville, TN had a Single Action FNP9. Nice pistol, very nice trigger. I think the Browning Pro is very similar if not the same pistol and TN Gun Country had one of those used.

They are the same. FN makes them both. The difference is you have to pay extra to have Browning on the slide.:koolaid:
