Finally took the HCP class

Recommended Posts

Well, after having 5 months off work and absolutely nothing to do, I went back to work and realized I needed to take the dang HCP class. I know, I am a dork..onward and upward.

I went to see the good folks up at Guns and Leather, Mark Crabtree gave the class. I think there was 46 or 48 of us there. Some scarier than others, but a good group of folks. Thanks too all the forum folks for the hints, tips etc. The test was no prob, and the range...well. I don't mean to brag, but dayumn I shot well ( course I am a yankee/city kid ). Now on to the DOS to get registered and finger printed and whatnot.

I work for an airline and have had several background checks due to the nature of my job. The TSA does a check, and every time I have applied for a different position at work one gets done. Does anyone know if that will lengthen or shorten my wait time?

Wait about a month after you get printed and make the call(866-849-3548). Be nice and tell them you want to check your status. You'll probably get your permit about 7 days later.
