It's a 151 serial prefix. Maybe a late 70s to early 80s production. (Please correct me of I'm wrong) Pretty sweet trigger comparted to my S&W but its size is not my cup of tea. Wood grips are 'Origional Mustang' brand. Says so on the back side of em. My hands are smallerish and the grip feels good even though they are on the large size of the spectrum. More pics below.... I don't have experience with compd pistols but I do have two factory ported handguns. One is an 8 round 357 mag revolver and I will say it is much more pleasant to shoot. The other is an alloy framed full size 45 ACP and it does have less muzzle flip than my govmnt model. I'd hate to shoot the 357 in low light though. I agree with the thought of not losing an inch of barrel length and the attending velocity since carry guns have short barrels anyway and velocity is a huge factor in expanding ammo.
