  1. I found two Finns in 2 different pawn shops in Clinton...both bubbaed.  hex receivers...one scoped.. both cut down barrels and altered stocks.  199 for the scoped one on the east side and 119 for the one on the west side.  checked the date on the receiver on the west side one. 1919.  They wouldn't let me look at the other.
  2. you do know that this is how mausers got so expensive
  3. Ain't normal to who?  NOTHING is normal to the police.  EVERYTHING is under suspicion.  If you're not a cop you're the enemy.
  4. I have one.  Awful looking thing.  6 inches cut off the barrel, nose job on the stock and that terrible aluminum front sight.  So I modified it even more.  I got an M44 stock (Thanks John.) and made one of the worst looking battlefield pickup rifles you ever saw out of it.  It has no finish and the wood grain is canyons instead of wood.  It is exactly what one should do to a Bubbaed Mosin.  Make it look like someone pulled it out of the hands of a VC.
  5. I have a 28 barrel and 28 receiver...in the same rifle.  LOL
  6. Sometimes it takes a blow with a 2x4 to open the bolt...I used a 12 gauge brass brush and kroil to dig out the hardened cosmo
  7. If it's the 1890 Police...less than 2000 made.     REMINGTON MODEL 1890 SINGLE ACTION REVOLVER AND HOLSTER, Price Realized: $3,335.00 Auction: 2006, Firearms and Early Militaria Auction, Dec 7 Firearms > Late Indian Wars > Hand Gun
  8. I built mine with a spring trap.  the holster opens so there's no pick up..just pull down and out.  I was carrying a 30/30 Thompson Center contender though...not exactly concealed carry.  Worked great for the surprise Elk in the back woods of Wyoming and left my hands free.
  9. Yeah...we might have the troops using American Made...uniforms...webbing...flags...and Canned hams.  I believe I've mentioned the canned hams before.
  10. I hit the pawnshop for mine.  it was unfired...well...maybe one round.  it had so much cosmoline if it it wouldn't chamber a second shot...that's what the guy that pawned it told the shop.  It was a true disaster...until I cleaned it. It had all the faults.  the bolt wouldn't rattle (Kroil fixed that)  the firing pin had square corners (they cut into the primer)  Even the mag was full of cosmo.  A couple days cleaning and YouTube videos and it became very accurate.  Chinese...great gun, chrome lined barrel, cleaning kit in the butt, but no bayonet.     The second one was very early chinese...threaded barrel..blade bayonet...the russian style machining on the bolt and the receiver...and 200 bucks. it too was cosmo dirty but can't find an import mark on it.  I liked them so much I ran through 150 worth of ammo in a week.

  17. when I removed my finish...I found out that re-arsenaled can include wood putty. My stock looked like it had been infested by mice...and they were hungry.
  18. [quote name='hipower' timestamp='1352562679' post='843081'] I'm beginning to have impure thoughts about these rifles.
