lol, its at the top of the list!!! Just trying to sponge up the mass amounts of info!

Agreed, ran into the same thing when I went on a 1911 spree. The FAQ section is pretty in depth though, besides that google is my friend, helps to hear from exp. guys on here too.

The more i've been researching today the more good things I have read about Bravo Company, as a result I'm sure, they are not even accepting orders until mid-summer because they are so far back ordered. I have also been researching Daniel Defense DDM4, LMT's, Sig 516, S&W's and Bushmaster. It's pretty difficult cutting through all the AR verbage, and Bullcrap

Yes I understand. By build I was more thinking, I don't want to purchase 4-5 different pieces of a weapon from different places just to save a few bucks, and then worry if I made the right purchases, when I could just buy an already put together system that I don't have to worry about it working well "together" or not. For a first time buyer of course.

I am not interested in a build currently, too many other things happening, however I do plan on doing a build down the road. What is all the Hoopla over the Piston ARs over the standard Gas system. Is something like this a key player in deciding on a "reliable AR system"?

That is indeed my plan. Even the colt link I posted can be had for under $1200. If I could find a decent rifle in the $1000 range with chrome lined bore and perhaps some other mil spec parts I would be very pleased.

Thanks for you comment, let me show my lack of knowledge, which model of "plane jane Colt" are you referring to? Did you mean the Law enforcement is the plane jane Colt? Sorry misunderstood at first. I'm open for any and all suggestions as I have just started my research.

AR Newb <----- My idea on purchasing my first AR is to get the best base model, most reliable, most "mil-spec" parts etc. for under $1500. In other words, I'm not interested in a build for my first AR. Other than some research I've started on AR15.com I know pretty much nothing. My first notion was to start with Colt, and go from there. Can someone help me out with some knowledge on this rifle or have some Pro's/Con's about it? Colt Law Enforcement

I'm gonna have to go w/ my new springer

The one in Franklin/Brentwood area had shotguns, rifles, and all sorts of ammo last time I was there. So unless they stopped carrying them in the last month or so ...

Looking for a New 12 ga. pump something barely outside of class III
ProjectDexter replied to vontar's topic in Long Guns
I got my Remington 870 on buds for $330. 18" barrel, 6+1 capacity, eats anything you put in it. -
I like using target clays. Got a box of 90 for 6 bucks at DICK'S, they're bright orange and when you shoot them they explode into dust. Plus they're biodegradable so you can just leave the pieces where they lie.

I wanted to go but my parents planned a trip to pigeon forge and wanted my family to tag along. Probably a good thing, I just went on a blade spending spree and can't afford anymore anyway lol

**Warning Sexyness Inside** I couldn't help it ...
ProjectDexter replied to ProjectDexter's topic in Show and Tell
It shot pretty well yesterday, a little tight with some mec gar 8 rounders, but she loosened up as the day went on. Love the night sights, those babies started glowing around dusk. -

I was going to ask someone about how it carried, what is it that actually tears holes? Curious which holsters you like as well, thinking about a crossbreed -
I really couldn't wait any longer. Bit the Bullet. Springfield 1911 A1 Loaded. Fresh outta the Box I only snapped off a few pics and only liked 2 of them ... May add some more later.

We need a simple FAQ on Knife Steel types
ProjectDexter replied to vontar's topic in Knives, Lights, EDC Gear
IMO a good EDC should be true SS (non rusting) and something that keeps its edge fairly decent. In that order, there is a decent amount of steel to choose from. Good Luck. -
I won't lie, I watched the video when Chad from KT brought it out to Nutnfancy's show. Love the idea, kinda want one now ...

Knives are as Addictive as Guns
ProjectDexter replied to luvmyberetta's topic in Knives, Lights, EDC Gear
I've got another Blade coming in, and then I'll post some pics of my little collection. You have a VERY nice looking collection. I'm afraid the majority of my blades are all going to say ESEE on them haha. -
Definitely agree on the hest. Great for the size. I've got some trimmed waterproof matches and some of that fuel enriched cotton fire starter under the handles. Love the Esee 4 too, but should have gone a tad bigger, think I might do the Esee 6 for battoning purposes.

we drilled a well, and have some big berky filters stacked up. We have also been looking into biosand filters for extreme situations. As far as earthquakes go, if (when more likely) the Madrid fault line goes there is going to be a big time shaking going on here in Middle TN, as well as across the east coast. Preparation is key.

Very Nice! I'm a huge ESEE fan myself. Just picked these guys up

I would pounce on the Springer just because I like their appearance. If you go Kimber, hook me up with the seller of the SA loaded
